He's going to get beaten so badly it's not funny.
Do you think so? I suspect it will be close...But that's just my opinion. Maybe there are enough xenophobic racists who will vote for a narcissistic bigot to see him through? No, I'm being silly, there aren't. I'm not saying that millions of republicans will vote for Clinton. Some will, many won't but many won't vote for him either. The man is anti American, even his own party hate him. I have a lot of republican friends and acquaintances. Some say they will vote for him, some say they won't, most that say they will are doing it whilst holding their noses and using an ultra long bargepole. Unfortunately for the GOP a lot of their people will simply stay home on Nov 8th and that means that they are going to lose a lot of senators, congressmen and even a few governors too.

Not even close. It won't quite be Goldwater '64 but it will be the worst defeat by a republican candidate since then.

All politicians are narcissistic and most have proven themselves to be bigoted. As for xenophobic racists - look to many of the less cosmopolitan parts of the USA and you find a whole lot of people that fit that description perfectly. But that's just my opinion. I wouldn't write him off just yet.

Demographics, demographics, demographics. Of course there are rural areas where attitudes are a little less progressive than we would like and for sure in Tennessee, Alabama and some other states Trump will do well. The trouble is doing well in republican strongholds doesn't get you anywhere. Romney lost by 332 to 206 in the electoral college in 2012. For any republican (let alone this one) to take the WH they would need to win all the GOP states plus a number of purple states. Right now I think he will lose all the blue and purple states and a number of red states like Missouri, NC, Indiana, Utah and even Georgia are in danger of going blue.

There will be a few exploding heads in the US as the misogynistic types wrestle with the ambivalence of a female potas or a racist idiot with hair cast from cold linguine.
We'll be there soon too though - Boris or corbyn.
The world is fked.
It's POTUS, the U stands for United, as in United States.....We'll be there soon too though - Boris or corbyn.

Don't worry, Brits will come to their senses and vote to stay in and Boris will be exiled to the Isle of Man.

Not sure about that at all. At the moment the polls have it even. But the pollsters were totally wrong at the General Election last year and could well be again now. As to what the result is? I wouldn't dare to predict. And Boris is far too smooth an operator to be written off if the result is Remain.....and I can say the same of Cameron in the event of Leave. The man got to be Prime Minister - you have to be a damn good (read clever and wily) politician to achieve that.
Interesting Times as the old Chinese curse says.
So a few weeks have passed. All you Trump fans still confident?
Since the last post we have had the conventions, Trump has got himself embroiled in a war with a gold star family, refused to release his tax returns (for which he is now being taunted by the much much wealthier Warren Buffet), been disowned by a sitting GOP congressman, had a number of generals and other senior military men denounce him, picked a fight with a baby, fondled his daughters arse in front of millions, lied about getting a letter from the NFL, persuaded high profile billionaires Mike Bloomberg, Mark Cuban and Warren Buffet to not just endorse but stump for his rival and now he's trailing by 9 points in the latest and first meaningful polls.
It's still early but it's not looking too rosy for Don right now and he's started talking about a "rigged" election.
Personally I have not wavered from my view that the narcissistic conman is going to get crushed by at least 100 electoral college votes.

At least he's not the "first woman" to run for President eh? There are many other lies, but I can't keep up with them all - perhaps Mr Sanders could help?America is f***ed either way with this one IMHO but I'd rather someone who wasn't a pathological liar and cheat....

Yeah you definitey don't want Donny then. He can't even lie straight. Says he got a letter from the NFL. It took the NFL about 10 minutes to say nope, no letter. Gassing Station | News, Politics & Economics | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
