We just had a 14" rigid tunnel installed. Absolutely fantastic difference, took the installers about 3 hours to do the job and it's like night and day (pardon the pun). As for costs, supplied and installed (including hoovering/tidying) for just over 700 quid.

Pictures are from a smartphone but hopefully can show the difference. The after picture was taken when it was pissing down outside and completely overcast. Can't wait for the sun to come out and see how bright it is ! We're lucky that our roof faces due south

Wow! What a difference! We've been debating one of these for in a similar position for a while, you may have just made my mind up!

Couldn't they get it central in the ceiling though, would make me twitch when I saw it off centre everyday wink

Had to be there as we have a boarded walkway in the loft that basically runs above the stairwell there. So if it went centrally it would have rendered half the loft kinda unusable. It has made a massive difference to the ambient light in the landing, before it was quite gloomy (even with the bedroom doors open) now it's like having a 100W bulb on !

I've always liked the idea of one of these for our place (new build with very dark stairwell) - £700 seems like a great price and it does seem to make a huge difference.

We had one installed years ago when we extended over the garage leaving us without a windows on the landing. Best decision we made, flooding natural light in just like the earlier picture.

Looks good but could only look briefly as my spacing OCD just went into overdrive...

Managed to buy a couple of secondhand ones about a year ago, probably the best 75 quid I've ever spent.

One fitted to a dark corridor, one fitted to a bathroom with no windows - very pleased.

The corridor one is off centre (due to structural timber in the loft) - fortunately I don't suffer from OCD.

Look great, I was toying with one for our landing but went with a Philips hue Phoneix in the end as I already have some hue stuff and it was a cheap alternative.
