Jaguar F-Type SVR - PH video review

Even more noise and rather less tyre smoke than you might have been expecting

As the first Jaguar SVR model, and indeed the most overtly sporting Jaguar, there's a great deal riding on the F-Type SVR. If it's good, then the future looks good for upcoming Jaguar sports saloons and - dare we say it - SUVs as well. No pressure then...

Here we have Dan's short video review of the SVR, taken from the launch event at Motorland in Aragon. In it there's discussion of the suspension changes, the kerbweight, the performance... and the noise. Of course he had to talk about the noise.

As you'll hear, the titanium/Inconel exhaust rather dominates the SVR experience on track. Which is a good thing, right? But it's a lot more than loud paint and an even louder exhaust, as you'll see. Without wishing to give too much away, it would appear the future of performance Jaguars is looking very good indeed.

Watch the video here.

The beauty of pistonheads was that it was mostly text pieces with the occasional time for tea video thrown in. There is a lot more video pieces lately which would be great if the majority of pistonheads readership wasn't at work..

Yup, all of this. I browse PH at work while eating lunch at my desk. More text, less video please.

These videos would be vastly improved if you sorted out the sound! They vocal volume is all over the shop and is flicking between speakers on stereo. If you talk about the exhaust so much, maybe let us hear it clearly?

Couldn't disagree more!
I love Dans videos, he always manages to make the connection between himself and us, rather than being one of 'the establishment' of Top Gear / Fifth Gear, who always seem slightly aloof, or disconnected. Or both.
Short enough to be interesting, long enough to be informative, I love the videos.

If you want the text equivalent, there's a link in the first sentence!

Oops... didn't spot that. Consider my objection withdrawn happily.

Still, more lovely textual ph'ness would be great to fill my lunch break!

Very well done :DerekModeOff: I guess folk expect TG quality everywhere. Top effort and how good does that SVR sound! Better ditch that Volvo Blue though...
