I have a 04 DB9 with just over 40k miles on the clock, when driving in auto the gear changes are all silky smooth but when I utilise the paddles and am giving it a work out, there is a pronounced thud and almost like a punch in the back when changing up from 3rd to 4th , no issues with any up changes.
Any ideas would be appreciated

Check the rear wishbone suspension arm for cracks around the outer rose joint ,causing the joint to work loose causing a thud on hard acceleration and braking.
