Hi all
Does any one know if I could fit the 6 pot v8s front brakes to my std vantage and still use the same brake master cylinder or do I need an updated one?
Any help and comments welcome
Dave

You'd need to work out the relative pot sizes.

I've not actually seen the 6 potters but I would expect them to be a little smaller than the existing 4 pots so would balance out in surface area with the existing set-up when you consider there are two more pots per caliper.

That said, I've done similar changes on other cars and I've always uprated the MC as a matter of course.

I'd ask Mike from BR this question as they do 6 pot brake upgrades.

Is everything a direct swap? I'm assuming it is, but want to be sure before getting neck-deep in brake parts lol

If I was Mike I would not answer. Why? Liability. I would be happy to show people how to unjam a clogged up windscreen washer line, but no way would I get involved with people changing the primary safety systems in a high performance vehicle.

Remember - in any later law case the emails would be discoverable. So I would simply not even reply...

I didn't say he would (or should) answer, just that he'd be the person to ask. Having experienced the adverse effects of mixing incompatible brake levers and calipers on my tandem (push bike) I wouldn't dream of messing with my car's braking system unless I knew exactly what I was doing. Splash a bit of cash and get the experts to do it.
