Was looking to purchase some mudf flaps/Stone Chip Protectors, found some via internet at a reasonable £77 for a front pair, however only for DB9's up to 2012. The 2013 + are over £270!! are these covered in gold leaf and scattered in moon dust or something???

Anyone found a more sensible price out there????

I can't help you with the Mud Flaps & stone chip protectors but what i've learn't about the AM spare parts is they are ridiculously priced, looks like everyone in the supply chain are taking huge mark ups on all AM goods.

Trouble is that AM owners pay it, but now that the early Gaydon DB9's & Vantage car purchase prices are in the area where us "working class" people can buy one, I just can't justify spending alot of money for items which should be half the price, for example -

Ignition coils £55 each !!!! (Ford/Jag part £25)
Inlet manifold gasket £100 each ???
PCV Valve £35 each !!!!! (Ford part £10)
Air Filters £100 !!!!!! (Aftermarket part £25)

I could go on.

It would do me a favour if you did go on.
A sticky Topic with a comprehensive list of parts one can use as an alternative to AM parts, with comparative pricing would be most helpful.

When I had 2013 side skirts fitted to my 2007 DB9 by Bamford Rose they fabricated a pair of front mudflaps as Aston didn't make them at the time.

You can just about make them out in this photograph of the new 'Big Brake' front callipers.

LOL, I really enjoy going on this forum, you are a funny man, making my very boring work trip away more enjoyable, thanks for giving me, and others some laughs !!

The Ignition coils & PCV replacement job i'm doing next week really opened up my eye's to expensive AM parts and sourcing quality parts from Ford/Jag/Volvo & Mazda, (Our Astons have parts from all of these manufactures).

If the mods are happy maybe we can start a sticky if anyone here has found a quality non AM part, so we can keep this subject in one post? I can post up my experience with non-AM parts -

Air Filters
Pollen filters
Coolant (Antifreeze)
Sparkplugs
PCV Valves
Fuel injector rubber o-ring seals
Ignition coils (2-pin)

Plus if anyone is after Mobil 0W-40 New Life 5L for an oil change, Look at Eurocar parts, almost everyweek they have a 30% off, (This weekend for example), the oil is £42, with the discount it is £30 !! the cheapest you'll find anywhere online (Halfords is £50 for 5L).

Thanks Paul, actually there's nothing I enjoy more than either listening or taking part in serious debate.
However I also enjoy avinalarf.
