Audi R8 Spyder: PH Videoblog

More R8 Spyder and, crucially, more V10 noise in our latest videoblog

We'll spare you the details of how Jamie Cullum was involved in us getting hold of one of the first of the second-gen Audi R8 Spyders in the UK on the assumption you're probably more interested in how it goes. We've already posted our review but, rather than park it up, we've been out driving it some more and Dan's put some further thoughts on the car into the following videoblog. Underscored with a rather stirring V10 soundtrack.

Watch the video here.

What an excellent review. Shame Top Gear isn't as informative as this.
ps I'd love one.

So "performance" mode in a performance car deactivates dynamic steering. So Audi basically know that it is dogs hit but just persist with it.

Agreed. Dynamic steering is garbage and should NEVER be specced IMHO.

I like Dan's geek reviews as he gives you all the details, rather than pulling funny faces and going "wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww"

but I don't like this car so clicked a bit through it and then a bit more and got

£164k and almost 1800kg.

Maybe I was just unlucky with those two clicks but I like this car even less. Sorry Dan, all your good work etc.

He is right about the size of the thing. I'm 6ft 3 and can't drive the coupe let alone the convertible. I'll be sticking with Porsche. Pleanty of interior room in that

Echoing other commenters: Yes love your reviews Dan. The best on the web (or TV for that matter).
Interesting car.
Keep up the great work smile

Tremendous review. God knows how you can talk so cogently while driving.
How do you get that bit of vid from the back end of the car as the hood is being dropped?

I went to the launch of this at Audi WestLondon last week. Not a massive turnout but the car in Yellow looked fantastic. Im not personally a massive fan of convertibles but this did look cool. Best thing for me was the noise on the V10+ It is the one thing missing from the Mk1 R8.
