Hi

I'm looking to buy a second hand Porsche this year. The model I'll be looking at will be about MY 2014 and so would actually only have about a years worth of warranty left on it if I bought privately or from non OPC dealer.

An OPC car will come with two year warranty and I'm trying to figure out if this advantage is worth paying the extra money of buying through an OPC given that the car will be more expensive and I have less to choose from.

Is the OPC used approved two year warranty a no questions asked affair? In other words is it just like the warranty you would get on a brand new car ie everything apart from consumables is covered?

Thanks

Not everything is covered on the OPC extended /approved used warranty.. For instance they won't cover interior rattles. But apart from that it's very comprehensive as long as you only use oem parts

Lots of threads on here regarding warranty but one option could be to find a car you like thats for sale privately, take it to an OPC for an inspection and if it passes, get the owner to buy a warranty and then buy the car from him and the warranty instantly transfers to you as the new owner.

Of course, this all depends on whether you think the warranty is worth having!

As I said, lots of threads on here so have a read and make your decision smile

I may have been lucky but mine did, took it in 3 times for rattles and even took them up on the courtesy car (generally a boxster) every time. Yes the approved warranty is expensive but I do think its worth it, particularly come resale time.

If I'm not mistaken, I don't think the approved warranty is valid if passed via a non OPC dealership. Something to watch out for.
