Currently got a Macan Diesel S on Demo, & very surprised how well it drives, great cruiser on motorway, will be giving it a go on my favourite roads today. First impressions are really good. My first PDK experience! I'm in a position to change this year but didn't want to miss a face lift if its soon, has anyone heard anything?
What options should I not miss? I have a 991 as my main sports car, so the Macan spec doesn't have to be overly sporty. Playing with configurator I thought the new 'Packs' Comfort, Sport etc seemed expensive?
Any thought welcome, Regards

I seem to remember reading somewhere that the facelift is expected for 2018 - was quite a while ago, so might be a) misremembering and b) info out of date

Don't think you will see a new one on the road until the earliest end of next year

am sure somebody else has better intel on this

I was chatting to my local OPC about a Macan a couple of weeks ago....it's actually the model due a face lift next in the range now the new Panamera is out. New Cayenne is early 2018, my guess is the Macan refresh will be after that....it's selling so strongly it's not like they need to rush it.

We got our S Diesel at the begining of the month and have been impressed as you have suggested.

Before we finalised the spec I had a look on the Macan Forums to get an idea of what the ideal spec should be. The key items that we spec'd were:

21 inch wheels
PASM
Pan Roof
Bi-Xenon lights
Nav (can't remember if it's standard)

Others that probably aren't key:

Roof Bars (mainly for resale so the next buyer can fir a roofbox)
Partial Leather (this includes the dash and part doors but not the door tops)
Connect Plus (this was already on the car as it was planned to be a demo originally)
crested headrests
Black trim (rather than the chrome window edges etc)

Like you said, don't think there's a need to over spec these cars especially if you have a 991.

I don't think we will see a facelift on the Macan. Almost certainly it will be a new model based on the new Q5 platform so this will be a major update.

There was a soft uplift this year when across the board the specification was increased with the addition of LED headlights and PCM 4.0 (options) being added to the car along with a few other items.

I had a hi-spec Macan on loan and was extremely impressed.
I'd guess on a subtle facelift in 2018ish, but a substantially revised model is probably 4 -5 years away based on Porsche's current formula.
I think the new Cayenne is mid-2017.

I would normally agree with you on the subtle refresh in 2018 in line with the standard product run, however all the immediate competition are on new platforms from next year so I very much doubt that Porsche will have their usual program with the Macan and will accelerate to the new Q5 platform at an earlier date.

We are already seeing Porsche go outside their standard program with the new GT3 being released next year.

Picking up a new Porsche is a pleasure, enjoy. What options have gone for?, what colours?

The GT3 due in 2017 is a 'facelift', so no change in their established policy.
