Today on Radio 1, JK and Joel ran the contest for the 4th Track for the Friday Final for the Ultimate American Guitar Anthem. It was Guns 'N' Roses - Sweet Child Of Mine against Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Give it Away.

Now, You dont need to be a rocket Scientist to know which one of those 2 won. It a Whitewash, GnR winning with 74% of the Vote.

Now they played the track and the Intro, the First 40 Seconds brought a HUGE Grin to my face.

Stereo up LOUD. Oh

So, Is the Intro to Sweet Child o Mine the best ever, or is there one even better than that??

Strictly rock or other genres?

If other

The Chemical Brothers - The Sunshine Underground

I do like a track that gets going 4 minutes 15 seconds into it...

Have to say G n' R kinda had a way with intros, you gota love the one on 'You could be mine'

Having said that Pink Floyd had some greats with 'Money' and 'Time'

Guitar intro by Mike Oldfield for Wonderful Land on the QE2 album, guaranteed shivers down the spine.

I suppose if you are looking at Rock some of the heavier bands have some fairly special intros.

Ministry and Sepultura and the like.

For dance music, The prodigy's 'Break & Enter' has to be up there somewhere.

Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera, if you can't think what it sounds like, try the old lucozade ad with Daley Thompson
