Hi there,

unfortunately the company I got my engine discontinued their service, so I can't ask them.

There is a LS7 and the standard E38 control unit.

1) Where do I connect the "crank voltage"? It is a red 2.5mm² cable, so I guess somewhere with positive voltage?!?

2) VSS: 2 pins, does the control unit "understand" the signals produced by the 997 Aisin gearbox? Or do u use the sensor at the driveshaft?

3) There is one wire with 1 pin coming from the engine control unit without any name on it. Does anybody know what it can be? Maybe to connect to a sensor?

Thank you for your help! smile

The 2.5mm2 cable I suspect is the switched ignition positive, it seems too small for the permanent positive that powers the fuel pumps via the control box relays. Does it have a fuse link in it or a battery ring terminal fitted? Is it a crate engine loom or other manufacturer?

You will need to use a VDO or GM speed sensor for the ECU to see the signal, driven externally from the gearbox to measure VSS. The stock E38 connection on the ECU for the 7.0L engine is pin 57 on the C1 plug.

Which plug and which pin number does the wire come from that you cannot identify? Let me know and I will look at my data for it but suspect it is the MIL light.

Attached is a Wiring list of the E38 - LS7 wiring loom that documents/compares the GM Factory and Ultima Factory wiring (Revision 2009.) I metered out and checked each circuit against the 2009 Corvette factory service manual (LS7/E38)

This document is only intend to help trouble shoot wiring issues.

I have also attached pictures of the connectors that indicate the positions of the pin numbers for reference.

I think you need to do something called a 'screen shot' and post as a picture on Pistonheads.

Don't ask me how though!

You will have to stitch the next 4 pages together to form the document.
