Hi there , I have been looking at an ex demo Cayenne and was very keen until I read on the Porsche web site that the warranty is only 2 years !? I have just checked angain and also called a dealer who tells me that ' this is obviously wrong ' but is unable to let me have the three years that he tells me is right in writing ?
Im confused ! Anyone have any ideas ? I have just written to Porsche UK also to ask them the official line as normally what is on the web site is gospel so from that then we are at 2 years , not so good considering that they are reasonably expensive ...

It must have changed, when I bought new in 2014 I seem to remember that it was 2 years and I had to pay for the third year as part of the purchase.

Certainly cars 18 months ago came with 3 years factory warranty.
We ordered our Cayenne around June 15, and it was explained to us by sales guy that there had been a change in Porsche policy to include the 3rd year as part of the price, so i guess if its a demo, it will only be a few months old and have 3 years from first registration.

This is what I have seen on the web site now and it is still saying 2 years ?
Even the dealers are confused , I have spoken to two now and they both are unwilling to put in writing that the warranty is 3 years although they both do say ' we are telling everyone it is 3 years '

It is hard to believe really this is true !a car has 3 years and the dealer is saying yes you are correct but you can only have 2 lol.
Ask for the DP of the OPC, it's shocking what some sales staff are like.
With regards to the used car warranty they say that they all come with a minimum of 2 years ( this is really good ) so if your car has one year left on the factory warranty they top it up to a full 2 years but this doesnt run sequentially it starts from the day of purchase of the used vehicle for 2 years
In summary , the cars are expensive and the situation is really confusing !
I have mailed Porsche also but they havnt responded as of yet , the dealers are very happy to confirm verbally that it is three years but point blank refuse to send me an email confirming this ....
In summary - I will be buying another Audi as it seems very strange ...

According to that website it's a Three Year "New Car Guarantee", that seems to have been worded deliberately differently to the Two Year Warranty referred to elsewhere. http://www.porsche.com/uk/accessoriesandservice/ow...

You can phone the warranty help line and they will tell you how long is left on the car.
It's not hard to find out.
if the cars a 3 month old ex demo, it will have 2 years 9 months left, but a quick phone call will confirm that, just by past the OPC.
OR buy a Audi SQ5, which are nicer inside anyway and far cheaper.

When buying new the 3rd year's cover can be deleted in favour of a discount, so the length of cover of any particular car depends on the original buyer's choice.
I don't think there's any significant difference in the cost of the 3rd cover when new or when nearly 2 years old (although they may insist on an inspection, but they'll likely be doing the 2 year service then anyway, so it should cost little/nothing in addition).

Thank you for all the input , it is the confusion that amazes me though and the fact that after 7 days Porsche still havent responded either

was there any definitive answer on this? I bought an ex demo from a porsche dealer when it was 6 months old. that was just over 2 years ago so i have no idea whether i am still covered by the original 3year warranty or whether my warranty has expired as it is over 2 years since I bought the car. I definitely have porsche assistance for the next few months and i have letters and paperwork showing this but I have no paperwork about the warranty and can't find an answer on the website
