£100K Garage: Ben Jeffrey

An Integra DC5 rounds up this PHer's mainly Germanic garage!

Name: Ben Jeffrey
Previously owned: VW Mk5 Golf 1.9 TDI, 2008 Suzuki Swift Sport, BMW Z4 Coupe
Currently owned: VW MK5 Golf GTI
On the shortlist: AM Vantage V12S, BMW M3 4.0 E92, 911 GT3

BMW E92 M3
Cost
: £22,500
Balance: £77,500
Why I chose it: "It's on my shortlist for future cars to own. I once heard one with straight pipes going past me on the A19 at full chat, had my heart set on trying one since. The last M3 before the infamous split and the last N/A big lump one for sure, coupled with a manual box, what's not to like? It might try and kill me, but I'll have fun fighting it!"

Audi S3 Sportback
Cost: £23,950
Balance: £53,550
Why I chose it: "You'd need something to use all year around, enough room for four humans, but still provide a little bit of fun. Will get you from A to B quickly and probably safer than most (The Mrs can use this) and its so discreet that most will just see it as another A3."

Honda Integra DC5 Type R
Cost
: £8,600
Balance: £44,950
Why I chose it: "A future modern classic. I absolutely love these cars, probably from countless hours on Gran Turismo... Would probably be garaged a lot more than ran, but it would be hard to drive this car any less than eight tenths all the time! The shape + VTEC + LSD makes this an incredible machine."

BMW X6 xDrive40d M Sport
Cost
: £43,990
Balance: £960
Why I chose it: "I shouldn't like these, but it's a guilty pleasure. A huge road presence and something that could chew up the country lanes in winter, or the long motorway drives in the summer. The performance that BMW are getting out of the newer generation engines is unbelievable, could have gone for the M50d but i'm thinking about the polar bears here..."

Good choice except the X6. Would have chosen the same engine but in an X5 so it atleast looks remoteley acceptable!

Unfortunately, the S3 doesn't even have a 'little bit of fun' in it. Will bore you quite quickly like most fast Audis.

A spectacularly un-enthusiast garage, Integra aside. However, I am guessing you have thought this through, and that three cars would fit in well with your life without any changes e.g. moving house. Three nice cars, just not very interesting ones. PS a friend has an M3 just like that, but with the competition pack, and it's very nice, but hardly an E36 / E46 M3 for thrills, or any kind of 911. 997 much more fun. However to reiterate, this is clearly meant to be a practical fleet, and for that it surely succeeds.

Every PH garage should have an E92 M3 and a DC5 Integra Type R.
