Has anyone looked at fitting the inlet manifold and super charger from the 4.6 Range Rover?

With the interest in Super Chargers and Turbos shown on the forums just wondered if anyone had looked at this.

What sort of power does such a charger produce must be the first question wink

That is what I have been wondering as I have no idea. Just happened to come across a ebay listing from a brand new Range Rover charged inlet manifold so then looked for a charger to match. They seems to mount fairly low so might fit under the bonnet. Just thought one of those interested in such forced induction might have done soem homework on it.

You sure it's from a Rv8 4.6 and not the later engine... BMW?

Again nope not had any interest in Range Rovers so know nothing about them really in fact was not aware that they had a BMW lump in them. Will try some more web surfing out of curisosity.

This charger must be from the Jaguar 4.2 or the later 5.0 litre engines. None of the 4.6 V8's were fitted with a S/C.

L322 supercharged range rover was the Jag V8 engine. Rover V8 was only used up to the P38 (mk2 rr) and was never supercharged by the OEM.

4.6 SSE Edition (by Cameron Concepts): These were supercharged Range Rovers modified in the U.S. by Cameron Concepts (now Special Vehicle Concepts, who still sell customized Range Rovers) who added Eaton superchargers and modified the hood to clear the supercharger. They were not typical modified Range Rovers since all were authorized by Land Rover Special Vehicles and they had a numbered Land Rover Special Vehicles plaque under the hood. Most (if not all) had custom wheels and many other options such as custom leather trim, extra wood and body color painted plastic. The custom “SSE” logo on the tailgate was created by peeling off the H and replacing it with the S from another new tailgate sticker. See photos below for details.

So for all intents and purposes an OEM vehicle with land Rover numbering

There's a clue in that description, in that they had to modify the bonnet on a p38... so it's highly unlikely to package easily in any Rover V8 powered TVR. Turbos would be easier to package, hence the off shelf kits out there.

I have been told that these were not sanctioned officially by the factory, the lode lane tags were already applied before the conversion work was carried by Cameron.
It was also a magnusson charger, I believe.
I might, of course, have been led up the garden path on this.

Thought they had an Eaton supercharger. Have just found some late 4.2 V8 ones listed and yes those are Land Rover-Jaguar ones.

There's a 2014 jaguar s/c engine on eBay for five grand - with 550bhp - would be an incredible conversion if it'll fit...

Can't see it fitting as it will be quad cam [too wide] The 6 litre+ 'yanks' are LS which are pushrod engines, same as RV8.

No. we use stuff developed for TVRs when we want to SC a Rangie. biggrin

So, for example, I'm working with SC Power to charge mine.
