Gemballa reveals new Avalanche for Geneva

Well it was hardly going to be meek and subtle with a name like Avalanche now, was it?

While there's been a predictable focus on the mainstream supercars for this year's Geneva show, it's always an important show for the tuners as well. After all, why have a regular supercars when you can pay extra for even more supercar?

That's always been the Gemballa approach, hasn't it? Take a Porsche, then give those willing even more of it. And it looks like business as usual for this new Avalanche, Gemballa's third such take on the 911 Turbo.

Firm details are limited at the moment; there are power and torque figures confirmed of 820hp and a "primal" 700lb ft but no word yet on how they were reached or what they can achieve. However Gemballa is says that the car "will set new worldwide standards for design and performance."

Certainly you can't imagine it will go unnoticed at the Palexpo, despite the calibre of cars that will also be there. That's all we'll say on the styling for now. But then if a standard 911 Turbo is a little too low-key...

Looks like it has been styled by the same people that did the latest Civic Type-R. Not good imo!

When the standard car can do sub 3 sec to 60mph, I certainly think that another 200hp is high on the agenda of modifications ;-)

On the whole OK, but some over the top details. Spoiler and two wings?

Means you can get an extra bag of shopping in there! Nice to see they thought of stuff like that. It's important in a car like this.

It looks like a Supra bodykit adapted for a Porsche, not a fan!

I'll wait until it's built but the artist impression isn't the best.

So much pretentiousness in the car world...

Porsche sticks a silly wing and bulges outside and the go-faster 911 GT3 RS is awesome...

Gemballa sticks a silly wing and bulges outside and the go-faster 911 Avalanche is terrible...

I'd rather not have either 911's havn't really interested me for about 15 years now , there just the default car that all old grey people and people that drive golfs dream of in the future all very predictable and yawn inducing ask any non car enthusiast what sports car they'd have and the answer is always a 911 it's just so so flapping yawn inducing
Its like me opening a car mag to see this weeks new 911 389.5 or golf mk 3999000.2 which replaces last weeks new model can they not talk about something else for a change even an article on a talbot solara would be preferable tbh

You should see Kahn on his supercar programme. Hilarious. Here's his finest work.

G Wagon innit. If someone did this to my car I would shoot them for sure..

I would think in Switzerland Avalanches are not considered a good thing.
