Just thought i would share my experiences/feedback after being a DB9 owner for 1 whole week (veteran)

sorry for the long post!

+ beautiful,
+ fast, i couldn't believe it when i first put my foot down
+ fantastic sound,
+ presence - its a classic
- Seats are uncomfortable (2006) numb arse after an hour or so and can feel the metal through the side bolster (is that the right term)
- Bluetooth Microphone - No one can hear me
- Fuel consumption - but then i knew that when i chose it
- no cool way of getting in or out (if your a fat sod like me)

+ peoples reaction - wow i have never been so popular

my daughters friends (18) coming round in the dark just to see the car, one volunteering to pick daughter up from work at 11pm in his car if i took him out in the DB9 - even better his 6 foot friend who folded himself into the rear seat for the trip!

The chap at RAC insurance that said he would swap my wife details over from the current car to the new one, then stopped and said he would swap his wife a DB9 smile didn't use them in the end as too expensive

Martin Hamer at Lockwoods - made insuring the car a breeze - thats how an insurance broker should act

James hawkes reed at Trackaphone - what a gent - replied 3 times to my Friday evening emails

Chris Bowring at 4C Prestige - He helped me source the car and steered me away from the rubbish ones

the guy at Tesco service station who came up to me and said how stunning she was ( wife was in the car but i knew what he meant)

The warehouse guy at a customers - i was waiting in reception and he said "excuse me is that your DB9" i said yes it is, is there a problem ? (thinking it was parked in the wrong place) No he's said just wanted to say its beautiful and we have all been looking at it on the CCTV

what a first week !

that week will feel like a year - but boy is it worth it

however be careful not to expect too much - don't get me wrong they are fantastic but its a car - it won't make you better looking or make your willy bigger (well driving it might :0)

having said all that - enjoy every minute - its a special thing

I'm not impressed by your description of the seat and it's lack of comfort.

Is it a bit saggy and needing a "refresh" ?

Indeed, I can feel the excitement building already .... how to cope?!

Haha...I'll try to keep my expectations under control; the whole ownership thing seems surreal at the moment, not sure what to expect really. But i'm sure that I will get a buzz when I hear that V8 sound... smile

I had a 9 with the early seat...hated it for the reason you state. Got another 9 with the later seat....much, much better.

I have the early seats and I definitely don't feel anything from the bolster and I have never had numb bum smile. In fact I find them very comfortable and with the seat heater on in the winter a very nice place to be.

I love them but coming from a Porsche 911, the response from others is completely different. As opposed to being raced, tailgated etc my DB9 gives joy not only to me, but everyone who sees her.

I took my father-in-law for a spin last Saturday.

At first he didn't want to go. He even said 'yeah, but my Subaru WRX handles better' - that may be so and there was a whiff of jealousy, but within a minute he had the grin of a Cheshire Cat!

He did not stop talking about the noise all afternoon. Until that is, Mother-In-law took him home.

And I do miss the oil temperature gauge from the Porsche.

The end.
