Does anyone know what the new model will be called?

Was there a name on the boot of the reveal car?

They do have a name, but not being made known until the official launch.
The only name on the rear of the car was TVRsmile

On the same theme : Legume - "a simple, dry fruit contained within a shed or a pod".
I'm still betting Griffith.

I asked Les about this, and while he remained fairly tight lipped, he did confirm to me that it would be a heritage name (i.e. from the TVR back catalogue) and not an all new name.

It should be Phoenix really.... Or maybe Sinatra (he had a few comebacks too!!)

If it's meant to be a GT (Grand Tourer).. maybe it will be a new Grantura ??

Doing a trademark search on all the model names, it seems on March 16 last year TVR applied for just 3 of the model names: Tuscan, Griffith, Grantura.
The remaining models they don't have marks for.

So my money is on one of those 3

The pin badge said TVR 500. A bit of a hint maybe?

I asked Les the significance of the TVR 500 on the lapel badge and was it the name of the new car and he said "That's a good idea. You mean, like Griffith 500 (like it hadn't occurred to him!)?". There was a "badge" on the back of the car - 005! Another clue?

I assumed the pin badge - TVR 500 was the first 500 LE depositors at the reveal?
On of the cad images had T37 on the number plate too.

I asked Les yesterday if it was going to be a "heritage" name, and he suggested it was with some pedigree. Although I was swaying to Tuscan, I'm still thinking Griffith.

I wish It could be "Grantura" as the first production model. But probably Griffith is more coherent (V8 engine, link with the American market...).

I think British Leyland beat TVR to use that name for a re-launch project that went up in flames smile .

How about the TVR MK5

1 Wilkinson
2 Lilley
3 Wheeler
4 Smolensky
5 les Edgar

I think car names and numbers are a bit tricky these days, so many people have the rights to them.
