Great day out at Vmax! Yesterday! Apparently slowest time recorded due to high head winds. Managed many different runs against different cars, some completely trounced me – McLaren P1, Bugatti Veyron and Pagani Huayra! BUT I did manage to get some good runs with a couple of Aston Martins including a supercharged V8 rocket ship, a DB11, another Vanquish S, V12 Vantage and a gorgeous Vanquish Zagato!

Supercharged Vantage 600bhp. Had the drop on me with a manual box and was very quick, I guess the only reason I pulled away was down to gearing and quicker gear changes.
DB11 – annoying this one! Managed 2 runs but only had wife in car videoing for the one it beat me! He did get a jump start but pulled away at top end crossing timing beam 5 mph faster than me. On the next run, I got ahead and managed 2 mph faster than the DB11 – I guess the difference each run is down to pilot error/skill!
2016 V12 Vantage – great race! Vanquish S had the start, but I double shifted from 4th to 6th and he got ahead! Video shows the gear mess up and drop in engine noise as the V12V pulls away! I don’t actually think there was any difference in performance even with miss shift I don’t think I would have pulled ahead.
Vanquish S! This was VERY interesting for me as it was a standard Vanquish S and mine has the Larinni Race Cats and straight pipes fitted. The difference was minimal and again could be driver related but I got the jump and managed 2mph faster than the standard Vanquish S – shame I didn’t get more runs against it!
Vanquish Zagato. This car is sooo beautiful photos do not do it do it justice! Both races I got the jump but there was zero difference between the 2 cars, absolutely nothing! Both crossing timing beams at 170 on first run and 172 second run.
