Hi All,

Had a brilliant day today. The weather has been a joy, and most importantly, my day has been filled with cars! After washing and waxing our TT we had to go ant take some pictures. We headed out to Galley Hill with a tiny fraction of battery left in my DSLR and got a couple pictures.

After my taking pictures my dad and I decided to drive around with the windows down and it was pure joy. On our way back to my house I saw a red blur in the corner of my eye, I knew exactly what that "red blur" was. I blurted out to my dad "There was a Ferrari in that driveway! A recent one also!" after my dad said he'd seen a 360 at a garden center of all places yesterday.

We turned the car right round and stopped. I quickly raised my DSLR, got the car in frame then pressed the shutter button and nothing happened. I looked at LCD on my camera and I was greeted by a "Battery too low for shutter operation" message. My heart sunk... confused The framing made for a great picture but I couldn't snap it. I needed to save this moment so I quickly pulled my phone from my pocket and got this:

Due to the the image being received badly in the replies of this thread I have deleted the image. The image was a Red 488 with the number plate "90 LC" sitting in a driveway.

Apologies for the quality, but this was a moment to remember! The 488 had just been cleaned. It looked beautifully angry sitting there. I don't feel as if my phone camera does this picture justice.

If the owner is on here, please, could I come and take some pictures with my proper camera some time? It would be awesome!

I would love to do that yes, but I wan't to respect peoples privacy and personal space. Hopefully the owner see's this post. An elderly man on his bike even rode past and smiled after seeing the car! laugh

How exactly ? Car / no plate / house / location - all that's missing is the owner's inside trouser leg measurement....

Give him a break. The car is parked in public, so it's not exactly a secret.
Knocking on someone's door, uninvited, on a Sunday morning is a different thing altogether. (He added 'personal space' before you chopped the quote)

Not sure posting his garaging on Pistonheads is considered private

Should have given him a knock and asked if you could pop back with your camera. Quite a few people have knocked on our door after spotting the car on the drive. Have no problem at all with it, always happy to have a chat. Even taken a few of them for a quick spin. Would have made my day when I was younger so now I'm in a position to put a smile on someones face, I do.

That's awesome! I think its great you're so eager to share a passion! Just seeing the 488 today in such an unsuspecting place really made my day.

I just don't think I could go and knock on someone's door. It would feel like too much of an invasion, especially if the owner isn't like you and would rather be left to his own devices.

I may definitely pop by there once or twice in the summer if ever I'm near by and if I catch him I will try and strike up conversation.

PS, thanks for a rational response, unlike the previous bickering...

I don't often like Ferrari's in red, but that looks fantastic.

You're certainly right! It looked beautiful!

If only my camera hadn't ran out of charge we would've had a brilliant picture, my phone camera doesn't do it justice.

I often find cars look great in pictures, but when you see them in real life, they look a thousand times better. Absolutely jaw dropping!

How exactly is that any differnet to someone seeing it out on the road and taking a photo with the number plate on show?

I wasn't earnestly suggesting someone was actually going to clone a car of which there are probably ~250 in the whole of the UK.

...And this is why my gates are always closed when my cars are out being cleaned. rolleyes Dont want to be advertising the fact to all the criminals and low lives.

I guess its ok to take a picture for your own use, but posting someones car/house on the internet and then asking him to come forward is a real no-no. Respect peoples privacy - not everying is The Big Brother House..

Due to large quantities of complaints about me including the image of the 488 I have removed the image.

This thread did not achieve what I originally set out to achieve (speak to the owner). I understand that it was an insensitive act so I apologise to all.

Let's all move on and if you want to admire the 488 just google image one. Failing to google search, head into Knightsbridge and Mayfair where I've seen many a 488.

Edgware road seems to be littered with them at the moment, loads of Rolls Royce's.
