ADAC British Membership 2017?
Discussion
First time poster so bare with me.
I know it's been asked to death over the years but what ways are there (if it's still possible?) to join ADAC as a British member for the abroad breakdown cover? Browsed the site and Google Translate isn't very accurate so it's a little all over the place.. is there a phone line or e-mail with English speaking staff? Any help appreciated.. thank you.

Just call the usual phone numbers.I know it's been asked to death over the years but what ways are there (if it's still possible?) to join ADAC as a British member for the abroad breakdown cover? All you need is "Guten tag - sprechen sie Englisch?", and even that only if you want to be polite enough to not just assume. I never once spoke to anybody who couldn't at the very least answer with "No, I am very sorry, but my English isn't good enough to speak to customers, so please hold while I transfer you to a colleague" or something along those lines in a perfectly serviceable accent...
You need ADAC Plus cover.
The email contact I have is Petra.leyrer@nrh.adac.de
She replies in English, I haven't used it in about 2 years though so I have no idea if she still works there.
Also from personal experience, ADAC are brilliant if you are anywhere else in Europe, but next to useless in the UK (if you also live in the UK).

Two of my three callouts were here. Both had the AA present within an hour from the first call. The first was a burst hose - fixed at the roadside.
The second was a dead alternator, 30 miles from home, with a car trailer on the back. They jerry-rigged a charged slave battery, and followed me home.
The third, in France, was a bit more of a saga... But that was largely down to the indolence of the local VW dealer we were towed to, combined with a total lack of flexibility by ADAC themselves.
I joined yesterday.
Call 00 49 941 52344 and ask for them to speak English, which I did in German. Guten tag, sprakensie Englisch bitte. (spelling all wrong I know)
From making the call to being covered took a total of 8m 50s.
Documents take about 2 weeks but they give you a membership number over the phone and you are covered immediately.

Is this for breakdown cover in the UK as an alternative to RAC & AA or European cover?
Both. ADAC are basically the German equivalent of the AA. Their ADAC Plus cover gives members full-year, full-Europe, personal cover for €84 for one person, €109 for two, €134 for couple plus as many <23yo kids as you have.https://www.adac.de/mitgliedschaft/tarife/default....
You can see why people think it's a decent deal...
I've been an ADAC member for over 10 years now.
I've used them many times for flat batteries in both Germany and UK.
They've shipped a car from Germany to UK twice and once from SoFrance, the first time after only 14 days membership. :O
The only problem I've had is when they sent the AA out to me at home in the UK. The AA man reversed his van into a low wall on my drive.
As said, ADAC PLUS membership covers all of Europe for around €85,-.
When I call them, speaking German, they always recognise my (north) English accent and answer in English.

Perhaps. I got quoted £48 for Green Flag full cover, then added European cover for an extra £25.
OK, so £73 for similar to ADAC's €84. That isn't personal cover, though - that's an extra £35 with a 16yr cap on vehicle age, even within the UK. The base premium rockets for older "main" vehicles, too.For me, the equivalent base premium to ADAC's €109 would be £122 - without Euro cover, which they won't offer me at all.
