I've just done the same thing. Big improvement I reckon.

Can I ask how much you paid for the change-over. Porsche Australia slugged me $4,200, which is about GBP1700 I think. Felt like I was being ripped off, but no other options, so they had me.

Wow £1700? I thought that mine was expensive!

I paid a simdgen under £1000 from www.total911.co.uk including Vat and delivery.

I'm chuffed to bits with it

I was really suprised at how easy it was to do as well. From start to finish it was 30 mins and I reckon if I did it again I could do it in 10 minutes now I know what I'm doing - superb!

Are the rear lights on the 996 that expensive?

I did the complete set on my Boxster for less than £600 and the front lights were the expensive part. They are the same as those on the 996, right?

Here is a bit of trivia....the Boxster / 996 lights look identical in pretty much every way & they are interchangeable, however there is one slight visual difference….prize for anyone that knows.....

Damn 1,000 pounds - That's almost half the price I paid out here. One of the (few) bad things about living 20,000Km from Europe.

And the patterns behind the lenses are slightly different IIRC.

Bit warm for an anorak, innit. ;-)

give that man a cigar !
Yep the pattern is slightly different, one has a honecombe pattern & the other straight lines. Can't really notice unless you get right up close to both units.
Glad I am not the only saddo on here !!

And that different pattern is worth an additional £400 .....
