I am posting this for the benefit of all Police Officers who contribute to this forum.

I have added information and sometimes advise to persons, and sometimes my opinions, bearing in mind i only post on the net when at home.

I am currently under investagtion in my home force for issuing "poor advise" on an internet forum and noting un-suitable comments.

This isnt a wind up and its for your benfit. Even if like me you dont shout out that you work in the field you do, you can still be found.

I will no longer be posting on this or the other 2 forums i do, Club Arnage and X Power forums. Solely as my private life is now having a detremental effect on my work life, which in turn is effecting my private life.

That sucks.

Bit too much personal info in your PH profile if you wanted to keep below the radar, perhaps?

Hmmm, perhaps somebody with similar values and opinions but a different username might register on the site in the near future?

That's very sad. I believe forums have done a great deal to bring motorists and the police to a greater understanding. Never before have the general public had access to serving police officers in such an accessible way.

This isn't the first time I've heard of an officer getting hassle for stuff they've posted on a forum.

Whilst I appreciate the police have to protect their themselves it does appear that they're a bit paranoid about something that ultimately is doing a lot of good.

Ist ridiculous attitude. Und have not noted anything untoward in any postings - unless the scamerati are running scared because rank und file share same reservation about scams "efficiency" in copping bad drivers.

Ist not a paranoid nonsene to equate this gagging of police officers to

DICTATORIAL STASI STATE!

und another example (und off topic) but latest from daft government ist to "boost baby IQ by sending packs of classical music un classic literature to parents of all new born babies und children born in last 12 months to stimulate thier IQ und desire for learning!"

Ist what the Stasis did (und Russia too!) und ist also Nazi idea to "develop Aryan superiority!"

Ist off topic - but valid as yet another example of how "Stasi" we are becoming. Our way of life und freedom of speech ist at more danger from these blinkered twazaks than it ist from supposed terrorists.

Never have I seen 'poor advice' on here. I have seen advice I have disagreed with, but advice helps us all to make an informed decision. Don't let them grind you down we all respect the difficult position certain professionals are put in by the government.

Posting on here boosts the public relations of the police it does not harm them!

Speed plod and the law is only open to members, so a big pub and a lot of mates, but not the general public per se.

Certainly from a personal perspective the views and comments of (most) bib on here have made me a better and more thoughtful driver.

As someone has said Robbo, I hope we get a new member soon who has a similar outlook but a slightly more sketchy profile

Personnally, I have found Robbo to be a thoroughly decent bloke and an up standing member of the community.

I even bought one of his "not for profit" Club Arnage T-shirts.

Have you thought about becoming a politician instead?

Seems that errors of judgement, bad advice, illegal activities and a self serving attitude all add to the potential for career enhancement.

Ah, yes, well, you don't do any of that do you? So you would have no chance then.

It is ever more astonishing to me how quickly this country seems to have plummeted into moral turpitude led by those 'at the top'.

I fear Wildcat has it summed up perfectly.

Very sad day indeed, I assume someone is paid to monitor this and other forums, as already covered in another thread .
As a Hampshire tax payer I object most strongly to my county tax being spent/wasted this way, who do I write too :fume:.

That REALLY sucks.

I have two words for all the BiB hereabouts: Anonymous proxy. If you connect via an anonymous proxy you can surf and post to your heart's content safe in the knowledge that the posts cannot be traced to you.

There are thousands of servers and sites around the net that offer anonymous proxy services. Try this Google:

www.google.com/search?q=%2B%22anonymous+proxy%22

Over 250,000 hits!

Robbo, sorry to hear that. I hope all goes well with the investigation

And personally I am not in agreement with behaviour like this, all opinions differ on all matters. After all, we are not clones of one another, and have opinions to offer that may differ from other members of the job. I think we are all old and ugly enough to differentiate between personal opinion and bringing the force into disrepute. We post on here offering advice as do all members of ph in completely different walks of life.

Best wishes mate, and hope to see you back on here.

Mike.

Yes, about time the bureaucrats let the MEN decide what's right and wrong. A sad state of affairs when you (may) feel intimidated. All the best Robbo.
