Hi I decided to upgrade my Boxster DME chip, this involved taking the DME out and posting it to Superchips...not a problem so 4 nuts later and off to the post office I went. I posted it to them special delivery with the optional £1000 insurance. I called the next morning and they had received it in the post, they de soldered the chip and remapped the curve, and sent it back. So the next morning I called city link with the consignment number to find that Superchips had posted it to IP22 not IP24 as per the included address. Not to worry I thought it will be here tommorow, and sure enough the DME arrived at 10.30 the next morning. So I refitted the DME turned the key, and guess what .....nothing it would not turn over, even though all the warning lights came on.... So on the phone I got and Superchips told me it hadn't been tested and could i post it back to them..So I did....they received it the next day, de soldered - remapped - posted back, telling me it had now been tested....So i fitted the DME and guess what...Nothing same as before. So i called them and by the afternoon my car had been recovered to Cambridge OPC on the back of a truck. Superchips said they would pay for everything so OPC worked on it friday afternoon, sat morning, and Monday all day, after Martin at OPC made Superchips see that the DME had in fact been blown up, and the alarm module was not at fault ,they allowed the order and replacement of the new DME unit (£1600).I picked the car up yesterday from OPC and after the usual car taken my baby was back on the road with a nice valet and she seems to run better to there is no jumping between gears(Tip)so well done to Cambrigde OPC Martin does actually care, and returned all my e mails and calls, as for Superchips, well make up your own mind.

Thought this sounded familiar - did mention the level of testing involved, which seems to have unfortunately been borne out: www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&f=48&t=238606

Why not take the car to get it custom mapped somewhere, rather than rely on a plug in generic map? can the standard ECU EPROM be interoggated/flashed? Andy F @ Weltmeister should be able to give you an answer...
