We are so relieved! The speed six Cerbera has been got rid of!We will never own another TVR,we loved it initially before the engine went pear-shaped, twice to Blackpool, lots of inconvience, hastle, stress and alot of money lost, too much to mention in one posting but if you read our previous threads you`ll get the gist!!We have now contacted all the major car mags.let see if they let the public know the truth?Feel so sad that the dream of owning a British sports car became a B..... nightmare, and TVR and all conected seems as though they don`t give a damn!!

I have had three TVR's so far including a Cerbera. Never had any major problems. However I wouldn't buy a speed-six if they were available for £1 each. There is a major prob with the engine design and they won't admit it. The attitude of TVR towards it's customers is sh*te. Very few people are happy with aftersales. What a shame as I love the cars. Sad you feel this way. I hope I don't end up the same. I want to keep mine not own some character-less german thing. Same here Cerby, after a nightmare ownership I have sold my Cerbera, hopefully the car is fully sorted now and the next owner will have fun out of it. The Dealer and TVR factory are probably the worst customer service I have come across, Lets hope Peter Wheeler reads this as he obviously hasn`t read my personal letter addressed to him as I am still waiting for a response, wake up TVR.

That sounds very familiar, maybe a lawsuit may serve as a wake up call and inprove the service for other TVR customers.

Although I've no major problems with mine, 4 years now, had it from new, the minor things are mounting up. Just this year so far, respray (faded so badly i'd never sell it), clutch, 36k service extra warranty, I think I've forked out about 6k so far and done about 3,000 miles. I'll keep until next summer or next huge bill. oops i've just realised you were talking about sp6 and mine is a 4.2, I've typed all this now so sending it anyway. MAybe this might put some faith back into 4.2's

Because the evo /top gear mags said it was a great car with a sound engine/we wanted to buy British/and we always longed for a TVR.Did not for one moment expect the sh*t we got from this car and from TVR Blackpool,Maybe i should check out my crystal ball!!!!

Thats the problem when it's a new model. You have to trust the press reviews, but they never have the car long enough to find these major flaws (has any magazine ever had a tvr on it's long term fleet?), and if something does go wrong its always put aside as a pre-production fault which will be corrected before reaching the customer.

Stephen Sutcliffe? Never saw anything in print in Autocar about him having done 50k in a Speed 6 or a V8 Cerbie. I thought the last car he bought and reviewed was a yellow lhd 911 turbo.

Mr Sutcliff should have been taken to the press complaints commission! His write ups were some what fiction! This was because he had 2 seasons of free racing in the Tuscan Challenge! James

James you really are one hell of a jaundiced individual aren't you. Why do you visit this site? After all the very sight of the letters T,V & R must give you high blood pressure. You should lighten up a bit or prepare the stroke soon!

Come on chaps we all know 1. Don't buy a new version TVR until the engine etc is sorted. 2. That after sales service in the TVR world is at best questionable. 3. That you cannot buy another car of this pedigree, power, performance unless you fork out loads of cash! i have had TVR's for years and never had any of the problems mentioned here but then again I respect the points made above. Let's support our beloved car make and continue to drive around the country with big grins on our faces whilst the rest of the tin cans on the road look on in envy. Drive it and enjoy it!!! JP
