A 1900cc Hayabusa engine

A bit expensive for me, but 270bhp isn't bad

Just looked in this weeks Autosport magazine, Radical are working with a partner on a V8 using two Hayabusa motors, they reckon a conservative 350BHP !!! And a non-conservative £12,000 ! OUCH, they hope to sell 100......uuummm I bet they do! Would go just nicely in the back of a Coram/Radical/XTR2/AS ONE/WHY

More interesting was this:

Spec of the engine is in the info sheet I copied below. It was utterly tiny! Wanted it lots... It was also mated to a very tidy looking bespoke Quaife 6-speed transaxle. It'd be a hell of a powerplant in a mini-GT of some descrption. Though expect it to be scary money. I reckon at least £12k for the engine and £8 for the transaxle.

The stunning result of collaboration between race-winning, high performance engine development engineers.

It was so ickle I think it'd even fit in my narrow SE. Not sure a 7 style chassis is the best place to put that sort of power though.

Whoops *blushes* missing a k there.

Given it's small dimensions surely it's only a matter of time before the jam two of them together... Think about it: 4ltr V16 *dribble* Gotta be good for 500+bhp and still not massive at 100cm long and 146kgs. Mini supercar powerplant if ever there was one.

Unn, Ughagh... Agaaaga...

2 litre V8... Oh good LORDY that thing would be sweet. Could you imagine the wail from it? I think you could run a slightly more torque tuned version in a 7-type just to hear it's glorious little battle song.

It gives me shivers just thinking about it...

Hi all,

as it happens, I have fallen for the engine, too.

Therefore, we are currently considering putting one in a race car version of the AS ONE to asess the possibility of a V8 powered "one make" championship...
What would you guys think about that ?

I would think:
1. lend me £40k
2. Stand by because Jamesc will be along in a minute

Tuffer, juansolo,

I take it you'd like it then.. I have noticed that JamesC has taken a disliking. Invited him for a testdrive so he can see for himself.
What he has been doing is potentially quite harmful, so I wasn't too pleased. Maybe he should consider the rules of posting.. However, it seemed that everybody on this forum had made their own judgement anyway.

Will keep you posted on all our efforts.
All the best & have a nice weekend.

Felix

Dont know the history behind it but it has been very annoying having to read such blatant slander from a certain individual on this site over the last couple of weeks. Your car looks fine, the press (ie PROFFESIONALS) seem to like it, it has had some good reviews and appears to be a well thought out and presented package. I would say that it appears a little expensive against the competition but at the end of the day you get what you pay for.
Personnaly I hope you do well, anyone with the courage to pursue their dream and commit to the extremely long hours and hard work that this kind of project entails deserves praise....even more so if they are making fast cars

Maybe its about time some of the moderators had a word???

Tuffer,

thank you. Ted already had a word (see AS ONE topic).

I actually very briefly know the guy from college, and unlike most others, I actually thought he was a nice guy. I don't know what I have done to get him so wound up, especially as I never had any direct or close contact to him at all. Well, things like that happen, and I don't mind personally - however I do if it harms my business. Gladly, all you guys have responded very open mindedly.

Thank you for being so complimentary. If I can help with anything, please do let me know.

Regards,

Felix

John S: Note the ad specifically says for drag, hillclimb and sprint. This to me suggests they know it's a grenade, and not to keep the pin out too long!
