I had an interesting little conversation today!
Discussion
Had a conversation today with a VERY reliable source who has recently been 'HOBNOBBING' at the factory.
Over the next 2 years, we shall see the following:
1. T350 is to be discontinued
2. Tamora is to be discontinued
3. A new version of the Sagaris with smoothed over vents will replace the T350
4. A new Sagaris convertible will replace the Tamora in September 2007. He said he has actually seen an unpainted shell and it looks stunning!
5. An 'ultimate' Sagaris with a Tuscan chassis will be introduced which will have more power!
6. A new dash will be put into all the new Sagaris' offering a SatNav option with full colour screen
7. New Cerby will be introduced in late 2007/08 (more than likely 2008)
8. No decision has been made about Engines yet
9. Lots of factory talk, and firm plans are now in place
How much of this is true, only time will tell, but seeing as he had nothing to gain by telling me, i've got a feeling that most of it is true or will turn out to be true.
The future looks bright for them

Had a similar conversation 2 days ago myself, was unsure to post!!! But seeing as you have, her goes......
I was told that the sagaris will be face lifted - No vents and a one piece bonnet, also no side facing exhausts (knew that already for EU)
Cerbera 2 (Or whatever you want to call it) will be 1-2 years away.
There is to be a new model, I think I was told Sagaris chassis and will be called
"TUSCAN GT" . My source said that that was all the info that was given and that no other info has been released ( I may be mixed up with the chassis - see above post)
I mentioned about the possability of a Ford V8, I was told that the New speed 6 was on its way in the next year and is apparently very reliable - I know nothing about engines but was told it will have hydrolic tappets!!!
Thats all I can remember!!!

Knew id remember something..........
I was also informed there would be an entry level model being released.........based on an MGF chassis, no details re engine/price etc (No kidding)
No idea any of the above is true but its what ive been told and have no reason to believe the person who told me was lying to me!!

Wide Bodied Tuscan - due to Sagaris's wider track , Revised front , Vents......

This comes from a very reliable factory source , so you're stiffy is entirley justified

Hi all, just a few questions from someone who knows 'nothing' about TVRs (I don't think I have ever seen one, and only seen pics since joining PH)
From an outsider's POV, there seems to be a vast range of models being discussed; are these all current cars? Just seems like a big range for such a small manufacturer?
What is the opinion about rationalising the models range slightly, given the reported financial difficulties?
As I said, I know nothing, but keen to learn...
eta; if someone could point me at a listing of models with pics, that would be great!

Just so I dont get the fingers pointing at me for this "press release".
I know nothing and if I did - I wouldnt post it on here.
I have been in enough bother in the past for letting things slip. Personally if you hear something I would now keep it to myself till TVR release the news. Keeps everyone out of trouble.

The reaon I have posted this is not to gossip or to stir things up, but because TVR have had LOTS of bad press recently (whether it be deserved or not is completely irrelivent), and from what I have been told this is nothing but good news that can do nothing but improve the brand and go from strength to strength. Positive news and positive thinking is what TVR need, so perhaps this 'leaking' is intentionalm who knows?!?
The conversation I had couldn't have been more opposite from that I have read/seen on here/press. The future sounds good, and I for one thing TVR should be more open about their plans (whether they become reality or just remain 'plans').
One thing I do know though. I am now saving for a new TVR in 2007, so thats one sale they have made out of this!
Cheers

TVR need to release something positive, just recently with the GM announcement of job cuts at Ellesmere port the local news started their report with 'After the TVR factory closure in Blackpool' ITS NOT CLOSED!!! and absolutly no mention of relocation, every one int the NW thinks TVR have gone bust! especially with HL Gorners closing in A-I-M. They need to tell the world that they are still there.

los Angeles said:Yes, but functional vents are not silly. All one has to do is cut them open and install an inner liner and mesh to stop stones/mud from being forced through them.
mark831 said:And after all the ragging I took on PH for daring to suggest dead vents are silly and the bonnet sillier.
I was told that the sagaris will be face lifted - No vents and a one piece bonnet ... Anyhoo, well done TVR Moles.
Not that simple as the void between the inner wheel arch underneath and the top moulded body surafce passes all the way into the cabin so even if you stop stones and water coming from below out of the body it would just go into the cabin!
I think the heater air also passes into the cabin still, like a Griff thru this void
Thats why its complicated and why none of the dealers have done a quick and profitable retrofit!

I suggested this to the factory years ago (albeit before anyone knew about the Sagaris) to reflect the mighty Tuscan widebody of the 60s. That thing did 0-60 in sub 5 secs! Oh yeah, it used a yank engine I believe

Ignoring the fact for the minute that this thread is no more than wild speculation, I agree with DJC's idea that they should develop the S6 and continue to offer it to people like myself that would rather have it to a wheezy yank V8 any day.
If the Tam replacement has the Sagaris underneath it, it will be truly excellent. I'll have mine in reflex charcoal with an S6 under the now rock solid bonnet.
