Sad demise.
The road is the exit between Baie de la Somme service station and the motorway, approx. 1 hour from Calais.

Front end damage doesn't look much, but the fibreglass returned to "shape" after impact: it has crushed the radiator and fans, impacting them into the front crossbeam. Etc, etc.
The passenger side splitter has since fallen off, and various other bits and pieces.
I did start it and drive it up the ramp on the recovery lorry, but not a happy sound.
Drivers side door very "sticky" which it certainly wasn't before.
Rear speaks for itself.
On it's way to Hexham Horseless Carriages from France.

Shitknacks. That's a sad sight. On a slightly humorous note, I wonder what the cable tie in the rear valence was holding on...?

Sorry to see that - I heard about it from a couple of Sagaris owners camped next to us.

Richard,
Really sorry to read, and see what has happened, but equally, I am really pleased to see you are OK.

I was in the T440R with Jane - she saw it in the rearview and looked at me and said "Warren's just crashed your car" - and he had!!

Brings back the chilling memories of only being 2 cars behind this and it could so easily have been us or our chase car (silver exige) in front of us that hit the diesel, instead of your car.

Did they manage to right it off in the end?

Face like thunder would have been the expression I would use as we drove past, but when speaking to richard later, he said these things happen.... Warren has now been suitably punished....

Dare I ask who warren is??

A son? (or no longer one...) or A friend (Again, probably no longer...)

Sad sight, but hopefully can be repaired back to its former glory, though I find the sticking door a little concerning. Good luck with it.

We always stop there and I must admit I have found the corner (both ways) to be a bit dusty at times.

Ouch. Sounds stunningly unlucky ... hate to think what the insurnace position is ... all in all you seem to be taking this remarkably and comendably well.

OUUUCH that a major bummer dude.
Have to be so careful with cars even my little T350c still scares me at times even after 18 months of driving it. You just never know when there going to turn round and bit you in the arse.

We've given him minimum sentence of 12 years - free beer and champagne on demand!!
After one of the cars went off on the track he received a few text's to the effect that it had "done a Warren".
On return to his office word had gone ahead - e-mails, notes, cards, and pictures to remind him!!
Not much point in making anything more of it - what's done is done. All got out without a scratch: many thanks to those who volunteered lifts (4 of us + luggage in the T440R was too much), and helped us to keep it a brilliant trip despite the faux pas at the start.
I reckon approx 10k worth of damage minimum - waiting for it to be sent to Hexham HC TVR for assessment.

Full insurance cover for both drivers - and Green Flag Euro Plus.

Well handled rpa, hopefully it'll be returned to new shortly. No doubt welcomed back to a champagne reception courtesy of Warren.

Hell what a bump! Glad Warren was OK and well done for being so remarkably philosophical! Always a great shame to see one go.

Richard

Gutted to see the car in that condition. It looked quite clean too! Just remember all the fun you have had in her. Main thing is that nobody was hurt and the insurance will sort out the rest. Hope to see the T440R soon.

Glad everyone was ok, and sorry to see any damage to a TVR. I am interested in knowing the road conditions etc. Was the driver experienced in the car? These things tend to play on your own mind when you are about to go on a long drive around europe.
