I've now re-replaced my rear light covers and sealed them in with this stuff

www.decoratingdirect.co.uk/viewprod/b/BITHA6/

Cured totally within 24 hours and so easy to use. Far better than the sanitory sealants and designed specifically for the job. And they posted it to my door so I avoided the queues in homebase. Two tubes and delivery for less than a tenner.

While I was at it I resquidged everything under the bonnet with it as well. Finally the Chimaera is 100% waterproof. It almost guarantees a sunny spring !!

Thanks for the tip, K3NJW.

I have just ordered enough to seal up my Chimp, the bath, shower and the kitchen sink! (4 tubes)

£2.10 a tube seems a bargain to me. Let's hope I can cure my leaks at last!!!

Can this stuff safely be over painted? In know Sikaflex can, but silicon sealant normally can't. I'd suggest you check first if you are using it anywhere that subsequently may require painting.

I found that mastic type sealant did the job, without painting problems... Black gutter sealant is good too...

I tried the black gutter sealant and that's what I just replaced. It didn't cure fully and so subsequently cracked. This stuff's cured totally within 24 hours ...... it's so good I'm thinking of applying for a sales postition !!
