Another Enzo has been written off.
This one, mercifully did not claim the driver's life.
It happened in Utah state, during a sponsored speed contest, whereby the local Police open up the road for a short time and waive any speed limits. Each entrant paid $5000 for the privilege.

Yes and no. It's a shame, but at least it was being used (more or less) the way it was meant to be. Keeping it tucked up safe and sound in the garage would be a waste too.

Apparently its the same Enzo that was pictured on these boards a while ago converted to a T-Bar roof (New moddified doors fitted).

A shame it happened, but it was being used properly, in an environment where they set up to do it (and as such was a closed road etc, so the only person they were putting at risk were themselves), and the passenger cell looks really well intact so as much as a shame as it is - bravo to them for using it.

According to the report they "...had been screaming along at close to 100 mph."

Damned shame but glad the guy's (reasonably) ok. Wonder what the insurers will say?

That is one seriously strong passenger cell. Well done Ferrari, but looking at the n/s A pillar, I doubt it would have survived much more rolling...!

I agree the cars are to be used, but used responsibly. Taking something like that flat out down a 2-lane highway is asking for a big en stack if you ask me. Lucky the person in it got out frankly.

I wonder if you have to waive your insurance fo stuff like these races...? Pisser if so, eh...?

It looks like a dead straight road and (you know better than I, David) 100mph in something like that really is so insignificant! To do that much damage I would assume* they were doing a fair bit more than 100, surely?!

*you know what they say about that

The road was closed off and the driver (Richard Losee), as already said, has covered in excess of 30,000 miles in the car without incident so I'm assuming he knows the cars limits better than most, bit too early to pass judgment on the cause I guess.

Would be interested to see if Ferrari reckon they can repair it, IIRC Ferrari said it was only in the order of $300,000 to repair Stefan Erricson's car after the accident on the PCH. Can't see how, but i seem to remember reading it somewhere...
