Castrol RS discontinued/recalled

I phoned up my local Halfords to see if they had some Castrol RS oil for the (06) Vantage, and they told me it has all been re-called and was discontinued.

What's the pistonWisdom on which oil I should use this being the case?

Grant says ( on another post) RS has been replaced by Edge Sport, available at Halfords for £36.

Cost of Pinapples aside (we all have our foibles!!) they must have seen you coming at £58, RS has now been replaced with Edge Sport & Halfords charge £36, I managed to get the RS for £28 (I LOVE a bargain!)as the branding has changed! Anyway I clearly need to practice my oil checking technique!

Just make sure it is the 10W 60 as they make a very confusing range

That is absolutely correct. The Opie oil boys gave me the same advice.

Just heard from Halfords (who didn't stock it) they can only order 4 x 4 litre at a time (16 litres!) which is bloody useless.

Where did people get theirs from?

Thank god, Couldnt get Castrol formulaRS 10w 60for my jag at Camberley auto factors today, so went for The Edge stuff in desparation as that was the only 10w 60 available.The oil reservoir was only just on the dipstick and about 15 mmm below the lowest mark.

....£48 though.

Yep,A rebuild would cost £mega+ but I only needed 1 litre or so. 1/2litre brought it up to above the line...and I checked with the right people before putting it in.Besides, the car was in my garage so it wastnt a desparation to get you home thing, it was a desparation to have another fix before monday thing......
