Simon Smith, who used to run Pro-Am karting in Selby has now set up at Tockwith (in additional to Simon Moore at the same venue, who runs a practise track).

Simon has new karts and I am sure the track will be excellent fun. I have an outline of costs, but I am sure I could negotiate a bit of a deal if enough people are interested.

If you are interested, please add your name to a post and any dates you either cannot do over a weekend.

Stu, what kind of event are we looking at ?

If it was a similar event to that the other night then I could probably get 6 people quite easily (have two teams of 3). Maybe a tad longer would be better though 1 1/2 or even 2 hours plus some snap at the end (although this could be arranged at the pub down the road).

Weekday evenings for me, weekends are mostly spoken for now for the foreseeable few months.

Sounds like fun, I'm in. Won't cd around 1st week in Sept, but pretty flexible otherwise. Missed the Midlands kart do, but you might be able to pick up a few more people from that group if you need numbers.

I'd think it'd be a team endurance race. I'll speak to Simon and see what he'll do.

So far I think we have the following

StuB
Tom (Stu’s son)
Trackcar?
Burriana
Tisknick
Mr Whippy
TomTVR
Pete B +2
Boffin
Speed8
Hobo + 5
Pyschobert

So that's 18 which could be 6 teams of 3. Any more for any more?

Ok, we have a couple of dates possible for this, so can you let me know.

1st we can do a Grand Prix event THIS SUNDAY 3rd September at 10am. This involves 4 6 lap heats and a 9 lap final. This date has come available due to a cancelled group booking and as such is offered to us for £35 each (normally £45). If we can get 10 people, we get one place free (so it's just over £30 in that case).

2nd option is for endurance racing in teams. There's 15 minutes practise and qualifying followed by 1h45min racing. The cost of this is £135 per team. There are various dates for this, mainly Saturdays (16th Sept, 30th Sept, 7th Oct), so please indicate which you'd prefer.

This is a new circuit run by Simon Smith who ran the brilliant Pro Am Karting in Selby for many years. The racing is in Pro-Karts, which if you aren't aware have 2 off Honda 4 stroke engines with centrifugal clutches and are pretty quick (60 mph-ish).

If we get reasonable numbers Simon is willing to discount the price for us.

You can check out the details for yourself at www.proam-karting.co.uk/index.html The circuit is at Tockwith, twixt Wetherby and York, not far from the A1.

I'd be willing to go this Sunday and use it as a practise for the endurance event.

What do you reckon?

Go for it - count me in for this Sunday, im sure we can get 10 people in.

Although its TVR,s BNG the same day which might prevent a couple of people making it.

Endurance race sounds good too - dont think i can make thouse dates though.

Definite list for this sunday:
