1st question is "why??"

The 2nd question is "Can I have a go please"

Although I cant see why you would go through the extensive ballache of doing it, I love these kind of projects, and would love to have the time/space/money/skill to do somthing similar with a MK1 golf and an S13 200SX

Which reminds me, I wonder how the "Mad Minor S13" project is coming along

Wouldn't it have been easier to take the Prelude shell and attach it to a spaceframe body which was already rwd and V8-equipped?!?

Hell of a project, regardless!

Usually there's always an "easier" way of doing something, but only you know whats available to you, tools/equipment/skill/finance wise, at the time.

At least this way he doesn't have to worry about manufacturing/purchasing the spaceframe, just adapt the car to fit the custom stuff.

Pah this is weak! Haha some guy in America shoehorned a 1UZ into a Hachi Roku (read AE86 Corolla). One of my all time favourite cars the Hachi driving, but I'd much rather a quad-throttled 4A. Or maybe an F20C cloud9

Are you trolling LT or just being inconsiderate?

I have to be honest and say the level of effort that has gone into that conversion is very impressive. Perhaps misplaced (IMHO), but everyone has their own dreams and ideals, and this was this chap's. And there's no doubting the technical nous and effort.

I also suspect you probably don't appreciate the difficulty in converting a car to rwd. Read his diary fully...you might learn a fair bit about cars and about the oily bits...will help you become a better journalist - Setright himself made very sure he knew about the engineering as much as the driving. Cars are a lot more than stats on paper and going sideways around a track.

Probably a bit patronising there, but take it sincerely, please.

Why hasn't this thread been moved to the Honda forum??

I agree with Havoc here, its hardly "weak".

You could then say, well some guy in america has a street legal supra with 1500hp, and then say well some guy in america has a twin turbo Ford GT, and some guy in america sleeps with his own sister and drinks homemade booze.

So what??

This guy has thought a "V8 Prelude with RWD could be interesting, I'll have a bash".

No problem. Lack of smileys tends to make people take you seriously on here, not the first time there's been crossed-wires.

Apologies from this end too!

Havoc, your points have been duly noted. I will endeavour to use smileys from now on to indicate my (not very good) sarcasm. Once, again, i would like to extend my sincerest apologies to any offended parties. Good on this guy for actually attemtping to be individual. thumbup.
I'll also try and find a link for the 1UZ Sprinter.

INTERESTING POST!!!

I thought I was the only nut case out ther---wanting to convert a prelude into a RWD.

I FEEL FOR THE GUY for I too can understand how difficult, time consuming and costly this type of conversion can be.

THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS I END UP COMPLETING MY CONVERSION. I have created a "One of a kind" RWD HONDA PRELUDE with a turbo charge H22 engine that runs (for the time being) 12.8 in the quarter mile with 450 HP.

I have just took HIN Minneapolis "Hottest Engineered Vehicle" award last weekend.

CLICK ON THIS LINK TO VIEW MY "one of a kind" RWD HONDA PRELUDE.
