Thinking about one for mine but wondered what the general concensus was- good idea or complete load of bilge?

as said above - it all depends...

if it is one that you need to change letters/numbers to make something - then avoid, they scream chavvy...

if its a dateless plate (except Irish) then its pretty acceptable..

Agreed with one exception. Saw a 996 GT3RS at Thruxton this year with the plate GT03 RS0. The zero and the 'O' were shrunk, presumably to the legal limit and it looked superb. Mine you, you could put the plate 'TAMPAX' on those cars and they still look cool as fook.

If you are poor like me and have to buy an old banger..i reckon personalised plates are tops. You can tart the car up and stick a plate on it and no-one knows how old it is.thumbup

Been valued at £15k right?!

It is a variation on James- reads J64MES. Loads of ones with 911 in the plate but the other letters are irrelevant to me. Mainly as it is a 'P' plate it dates it a little but the standard plate is also unpretentious so may stick with that. Seen Fast Car on an Aston- can't remember the way it was put together but looked the biz I must say.

Something like 1RW etc represents somebody with no taste but lots of money. Something like B80BBY/J64MES represents someone with no taste or money.

I have the same on mine plus my initials. None of this bastardising numbers and letters mularkey. It looks fine, other petrol heads know why it's there and at £400 inclusive from DVLA it's not bad value.

I think you're always going to look a bit of a plonker with a personalised plate.

Biased, of course, but something short with your initials is good

Like the idea of C2 + initials too (or C4, or GT03 or whatever)

'short' plates always look better than big 7 character ones in my book, they look crap

I found something relevant to me and my car (see my userID) and I think it looks very tidy on my p&j.

I have one on the 911 - 911 XXX - I personally couldn`t give a feck for them but the car came with it. How do you value these things?
