Any group road trips planned in 2007? I have been thinking of making a trip this year, and wondered about organising a huge roadtrip like some of you have done previously in 2006. I would also like to get the www.uk-mkivs.net interest and make it a joint forum event.
Any veterans of these road trips - any info would be really good to help get the trip on the drawing board.

In response to wanting to go the legendary nurburgring with the mkiv club av a look at this.

Have been with him for the last 3 years and have loved every minute of it. fiat coupe first year, leon cupra 2nd, evo 4 last year
if you can get a good group of people and cars, say 10-12 cars and 20+people it will be the best weekend you will ever have. maybe a discount with that many people, you would have to contact him.
unlike some tour operators he will guide you from the docks all the way to the hotel and the ring, via the nice twisty roads, even providing some mechanical back up as his estate car is full kitted out with tools.
Also helping out with any possible problems on the way (e.g border control at belgium) or at the ring.
Mate of mine last year in a mkiv golf gti turbo had an incident on track, hitting a barrier and bending his suspension, and he got recovered off and repaired at a very local place for just 60-70 euro with the help from keith (owner of nurburgringexperience). he was back on track within the hour. this would probably normally cost £100+ quid just to get trailered off.
Really nice bloke and a trip like this is perfect if youve never been before.
im going again 1st weekend in april, and hopefully later on in the year as well.
