That's it... Having finally been in the back of Ricc's 993RS I think I finally have the answer to the 993/6/7 debate.... The 993 and the 996 are two entirely different cars. Sure, they're both 911's but that's where the similarity ends. Sally will sit at 140 all day every day or crawl along in traffic without ever missing a beat. She's comfy and remarkably efficient at disposing of large distances in complete air conditioned comfort very quickly if you so wish.

The air cooled beasties seem to be a different animal all together. Alright so Ricc's is a stripped out racer but nonetheless there's a sense of occasion when you sit in her that you simply don't get in the 996. The 993 feels older (not worse, just older) yet that isn't a bad thing... It's like your favourite MILF or perhaps Jack Nicholson when he gives that menacing smile of his.

I wouldn't necessarily want to be in the RS all day long or commuting to work but when the moments right it sure hits the spot yes

Two different cars for two different occasions.

hmm. the only problem is rob that youre comparing rics RS with the shitest Porsche, ever.

other than that, your analogy is perfectly functional.

I take it that's a typo or has rob sold his daughters to the slave trade?

yes You need to have a go in a 993 C2 cab tip to make a valid comparison.

Or a 996 GT3.
I know which I'd choose ....

Noooo (although I know what you mean) It's like my old E30... There was a sense of occasion every time I drove that (even when I crashed it )

It's like the difference between a new restaurant and one with horse brassings and stone walls (sorry, couldn't resist it!) They're probably both equally good, just different.

the one i was in recently was fine. much less effort than tiptronic owners would have you believe. but then both my legs are the same length.

thanks for asking.

Sally has a built in butler who automatically takes care of such things.

but back on topic, seriously, rob your car is a porsche in name only.

no aspect of your automatic convertible could be argued to be a sports car.

its, at best, a sports car shaped car. but even that only applies to the bottom of it.

so, therefore comparing it to rics garage queen only applies in that they are indeed different, and they share a badge. other than that, its like comparing chalk and shit.
