Yeah, Pete's old Astra Coupe was stunning, couldn't believe when he took her apart, but he's not a man for half-measures and the whole project may have taken a long while, but you know he's making sure that everything is being done right

Can't wait to see her in the flesh again

Great looking project, the guy seems to have so much ability and time hope to see it finished, Does any one remember the post last year about the guy putting a new LS2 crate engine into a opel manta is that one still progressing?

someone really has to ask the question - why?? For the money he's spent he could have bought a decent spec cv8 Monaro and done some serious mods to the engine/brakes/handling - hell he could have fabricated his own exhaust if he wanted something to weld!! Gotta be the most pointless exercise I've seen - don't get me wrong you got to admire him for his work but its still an Astra at the end of the day.

True, but its unique, and due to the weight advantage, will have the ability to be pretty damn fast.

If everyone wanted the same thing, life would be pretty boring....and you wouldnt have ANY tuning accessorys for your car.

Yes but you forgot one.. it would be the ultimate street sleeper.

How annoyed would you be having spent over £100k on an Aston, Porsche GT3, etc if you were obliterated by an Astra hehe

Marched on by a Holden yeah, but a humble standard looking Astra scratchchin

That is insane, you have to respect someone for taking something like that on but in fairness I would rather be in an Aston loll (wouldn't we all!)

Locost is already out the garage and scattered over the drive, now all I need is for you to bring the Monaro home so I can 'borrow' the engine and running gear.

Looks like a awesome project, i've been reading up on the developments in the Readers Cars section of PH for a while, good luck with it Pete.

Hello Brian, yes I picked it up last wednesday, but it doesn`t fit. I dont know wether to modify it or not, stick with the GTO covers or get some Corvette ones.

Covers? When you've bolted your magnacharger on the top with a pair of pollished billet fuel rails you wont want vanity cover
