Would it still be possible to get hold of one of these (must be green/black , spec not too fussed) , i have only asked 2 dealers and a firm NO , i have a 997 gt3 on order but i have been in the presence of both all week last week and the RS is the only option.

Someone somewhere will get you one just depends on how deep your pockets are.

Earlier this year I placed an order for a full UK spec RS through a non franchise dealer for Nov build. My deposit was returned a few weeks ago when Porsche announced they would stop building the RS in August.

Therefore I think your only chance is to be patient and try and pick up a cancelled slot or pay up and look big now for a nearly new one. Green was going to be my choice as well but I think we are in a minority.

Other alternative if you don't mind LHD is get one from the continent, there seem to be far more available there.

Go for it Paul, looking forward to seeing it on track!

You got any plans for Croft soon? We might be there at the end of the month ...

agree, if you can RS is the one. 997GT3 looks good but put it next to the RS it looks plain!

Don't entirely agree.

Sure the RS looks awesome, but it makes a 'loud' statement. I think a white Club Sport actually looks better.

Are we saying that there will be no more 997 RS models after August build ?.

I've one coming in June but already had an order in with another OPC who maintain that they will be supplying me a car in Early 2008, are they spinning the old line to hold the £10k in the hope that I put it into something else ?.

This is news to me - that all 997 GT3 RS cease production this Aug ? Is this official news - must be good for residuals

As long as the orders come in in sufficient volume they'll continue to make them. I'll bet my hat on it.
