GT2 brochure leaked
New 997 Porsche GT2 revealed

Grrr...
The dealer brochure for the Porsche 997 GT2 has leaked out – and the details are very tasty.
The headline figures are 530hp produced at 6,500rpm with 505lb ft of torque developed between 2,200 and 4,500. Porsche is quoting a 0-60mph time of 3.6 sec and a 0-100mph sprint in a scant 7.4 sec. Blimey. Top speed is said to be 204mph.
The rear-drive only GT2 has a six-speed manual gearbox and a claimed a kerb weight of 1,440kg.

530hp in here
The twin turbo flat six has received a number of modifications over the engine found in the regular ‘Turbo’, including revised variable vane turbos with larger compressors that generate an additional 2.9 psi of boost; a new ‘expansion’ air intake manifold and a titanium exhaust silencer. The latter is said to produce a ‘warm, deep, bass-rich sound’, according to the brochure. Yum.
The GT2 also has 19” wheels as standard; adjustable suspension; a full suite of switchable PSM aides; Porsche’s PCCB carbon brakes and some serious-looking bucket seats. There’s even a new launch-control system: dial in 13psi of boost and dump the clutch – the electronics optimise the engine for the rest.
The GT2 is expected to make an official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

Me too, seriously considering putting down a deposit. Still not sure about the rear vanes and the addition of PASM, however i'm sure its going to be one seriously quick machine and a stunner in the right colour. C.

Impressive figures, love the titanium exhaust and the launch control sounds intriguing, they seem to have put a lot of thought into this car, appears more than a chipped 2wd TT derivative.

Those are impressive stats for a standard Porsche production car (if you know what I mean). Not far off AdamT's Ruf R Turbo. And this one is for the masses!!!! (Comparatively speaking )

There seem to be quite a few firsts for Porsche with this car, tiltable buckets, upshift light, launch control (already mentioned) but the icing on the cake has to be the 2 stage adjustment facility for the traction control and PSM. All features to add excitement to the 3.8 GT3 mk2 when it arrives

Thank you for bringing this outrageous device into the realm of my pysche. There really will be no substitute. Oh, for the love of God, why, why must we have speed limits all the time? To quote Marv in Wall Street, "This is gonna be awesome!"

All features to add excitement to the 3.8 GT3 mk2 when it arrives I agree, there are some lovely touches here. Love the seats. I would want a cage as well though. You shouldn't have harnesses on without a cage. An with the seats tilted forward you could get your small bags all piled in the back much more easily than I manage (total pain in the arse dropping bags over the cage and into the back of the car.....then you can't get them out very easily). Upshift light.....we should all have one of these. Titanium exhaust.....very tasty and a good idea in the rear heavy 911. Launch control quite fun once or twice, then never bother again. Switchable TC/PSM a really good idea. If it handles then it could be a mega all round car. And the weight isn't TOO bad. 1443kg curb weight. But a lot more (1753kg) for the gross vehicle weight, whatever that means). What we really need of course is to follow Ferrari's latest concept cars and produce all this power and tech and make it weight 1000KG. Then I might buy one!!

Im sure they'll do a club sport version. But unless you can completely disable the PASM and TC it holds absolutely no interest for me and I guarantee you won't be able to. I guess Porsche's attempt at preventing the 997 receiving the widow maker handle.

Try reading the brochure , as it specifically states that both TC and PSM can be fully turned off and will not re-engage even if the ABS is activated.........
