Audi TTS Prices Announced

Hottest ever TT due to arrive in summer

Audi TTS Roadster
Audi TTS Roadster
Audi has announced prices for its hot TTS - £33,380 for the coupe and £35,380 for the roadster.

The first cars are set to be delivered in Summer this year and the coupe will do 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds, while the roadster takes 5.6 seconds.

Both are limited to 155mph and the Audi S tronic twin-clutch transmission will cost an extra £1,400, although it will reduce acceleration times by a further two-tenths of a second for both coupe and roadster.

Audi Magnetic Ride is fitted as standard in the TTS.

How can an auto box with a twin clutch which is in effect holding the next gear possibly add 0.2 seconds to a 0-60 time compared with manual box?

What am I missing?

5.2 for the dash to 60 isn't all that awful for a TT.

They still need RWD.

Let me understand this, its going to be not much slower than an R8, lots cheaper than an R8 and less likely to be surrounded by a group of chavs with camera phones everytime you go to town than an R8. Surely if Audi built a RS version it would be commercial suicide for their supercar.

Isn't that rather a lot of money for a VW Golf/SEAT Leon/Skoda Octavia in a party frock ?

If it wasn't based on other VAG parts it would cost as much as an R8.

It doesnt look special enough imo, id want it to look more special than it does. Still cant argue with the performance figures - they are quiet respectable.

I don't think so - the R8 is so much more than the TT. And as far chav's taking photos - well they do but so everyone does. I have had nothing but smiles and thumbs up since I got it.

TT or R8 is a bit like Boxster v 911. Only those without the cash get the Boxster and everyone knows it smile

Audi S cars have always been understated though, that's part of their appeal. It's the RS versions that get the vents and arches etc.
