TVR Power RV8 Charity Rolling Road Shoot Out !
Discussion
I received a phonecall from Dom at TVR Power last night and he is keen to set up the Rover V8 rolling road shot out that has been mentioned in an earlier thread, not willing to let an opportunity pass me by I've had a think and come up with this format...
Dom has offered the facilities for a day for free and a £250 cash pot for event so here is what I propose...
There will be three classes, best 4 litre, best 4.3/4.5 and best 5.0/5.0+.
Anyone wishing to compete will be asked to contribute £25, as the facilities are free I propose this fee will go directly to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Anyone wishing to go on the rollers should email me at rv8shootout@corindenton.co.uk you should supply details of your car (model, engine size, engine mods, any other interesting facts) so that laminated sheets can be made up to place on your dash when the car is parked up to give people an idea of your motor.
The cash prize will be split as follows..
Best performer 4.0 - £50.00
Best performer 4.3/4,5 - £50.00
Best performer 5.0/+ - £50.00
Highest output of day - £50.00
Attendees choice of favourite car - £50.00
As I should have all the details of cars attending in advance they will all be all be entered onto a ballot paper and all people in attendance will have the chance to vote for their favourite car for whatever reason they wish.
I have put this to Dom and he is up for it and will even supply refreshments on the day.
Rules - only rules are that it has to be a Rover V8 based unit in a road legal TVR, that's it!
Anyone attending but not competing will be politely asked to contribute £5 for a parking pass that will go into the Marie Curie pot, the total will be broken down, listed on here and the receipt posted up on this thread.
I am looking at Saturday August 2nd?
Up for it?
It's all for charidee mate!

Hi Corin,
As I started the thread which led to this I'd better put up too - maybe I'll have to get the MA chip sooner than planned
I agree with Chris
and
afterwards would be nice too.
Well done for organising - hope you didn't have to fluff Dom too much to get his hand in his pocket!!!!

Corin, not sure I'll be able to make it but as you say, it is for charity so why have a prize fund. Just do some certificates (or very cheep awards) and donate the £250 to charity too? I'm sure it will be a good day (and night if people stay for a drink) and a bit of fun but I would have thought that most people will attend solely to see what their car 'will do' on the rollers for a bargain price of £25 rather than have the aim of winning a prize.Best performer 4.0 - £50.00

Just my opinion.....
