Started the car this morning and the airbag warning message on the dash won't go out. I have used the car a few times now today and it is still on. Any ideas on how to avoid a trip to porsche ?

UPDATE I have spoken to a specialist and aparently there may be a comman fault on this model with a plug under the seat which connects the side airbag to the seatbelt tensioner ? Has anyone any similar experience, and also how can I turn the light out without a visit to porsche ?

Mine is the same car and although I've never had the light appear, I found a fault when I connected my Durametric tester. Cleared it and it never came back. I agree, could be a loose plug.

Rather than start a new thread, I just thought I'd go back nine years...

The airbag warning light on my 2010 Boxster recently started coming on intermittently and now is stubbornly on. The fact that it flickered originally makes me suspect a loose connection, rather than an actual problem, but with an MOT looming, I guess I need to do something about it.

Anyone have any ideas of which wires I need to wiggle around? I had a little play under the passenger seat, but that didn't do anything. Failing that, any ideas where I can get hold of or borrow the cable referred to here? Would be good to do a reset and see if the light comes back.

Cheers,

Paul

I would think you'd need a PIWIS/PTS2/Durametric to identify which of the airbags is at fault.

Thanks edc.

I get the impression the PIWIS will not work with a 2010 car, so I guess it's Durametric, which presumably means a trip to a garage?

If you are a user of boxa.net there is a post listing friendly members and their location and which Porsche software tools they have.

Hope it is something simple as described above as I had same problem in my 55 reg 997 C2s whch turned out to be a wiring loom fault .
Luckily car was under warranty!!
