Lotus Eagle Filmed Testing

Video of Lotus sports car testing at the Nurburgring

Another vid here I’m afraid – this time it’s the Lotus Eagle testing at the Nurburgring.

The car can also be seen driving around the roads near the circuit and into a testing facility.

You can see the round Ferrari-esque brake lights illuminating in one shot and it would appear that the car is dark blue underneath the camouflage.

The video was posted on YouTube by someone calling themselves LotusEthos.

The Ethos name has already been trademarked by Lotus as PH revealed in March.

I thought Eagle was the new four seater lotus, correct me, but that thing looks like it could only take two seats, so is it the Esprit replacement?

I'm wondering if it's an updated Europa. Are the proportions that much different?

I passed that car on my return from Snetterton on Tuesday. It seems quite small in the flesh and if the fake bits were stripped off it probably wouldn't be much bigger than the Europa.

Interesting that it is on UK plates, which means that it has to have been registered at some point - A057EVU appears to be the registration, this points to a Honda of some sort on the RAC database and on the DVLA vehicle check, gives this data;

The vehicle details for AO57 EVU are:

Date of Liability 01 12 2008
Date of First Registration 13 12 2007
Year of Manufacture 2007
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 249CC
CO2 Emissions 0g/Km
Fuel Type Petrol
Export Marker Not Applicable
Vehicle Status Licence Not Due
Vehicle Colour RED
Vehicle Type Approval null

The rear seats are going to be 'for up to nine year olds'.

Lotus are aiming this car at Elise/Exige owners who now have to cart sprogs around with them.

Roll on the British Motor Show!

Me too! I saw 2 of them near the Wymondham turning on the A11 on Saturday. Hardly surprising really, if you are going to see them, you will see them around here!
