I like the fact they have given it a "voice" but I don't think it's special enough. I know they are catering for their customers but wouldn't they have attracted new buyers and customers if they had properly stripped it down and made it sporty?

probably not. The "thing" with aston's has been that they always had the luxury: years ago they thought about doing a clubsport version, with weight removed but customers ween't keen at all. People associate luxury with Aston Martin.

They also associate Aston Martin with sheer beauty and so much desirability it almost hurts!

I want one soooo bad!

Can anyone actually fault this car and say they wouldnt ave 1?
This car is almost perfect, it has almost everything you would want from a car, speed, comfort, style, good brakes, good steering, and its also quite practical.
I want 1 BADLY!

Best drivers car Aston has ever made.

If only they could find a way to stop bits falling off...

Very nice,,impressive that they worked out they only needed to lower the suspension 3mm to make some difference,,,surely most springs & shocks will move this ammount once sttled in or after a few miles.

I drove the DB7 and the DB7 GT back to back and wow, what a difference. The GT feels a completely different car.

This is not correct.

JC referred to the Aston Martin V8 Vantage of the 90s in the Top Gear Video "SuperCars" as an "Rolls Royce with an attitude"

Sorry

This was the last DB 7, the best one

the one that has a genuine chance to become more of a classic compared with other DB 7, IMHO. Still a great car nowadays and if one think that the engine is the base for the one in the Vanquish and the DB 9...

I'd get one but not so much space left in the garage I am afraid

yet I am tempted

Wow your car is nice ,

What a garage that would be if you had a DB7 GT to go with it

Sorry to be the perennial scrooge, but the GT was another near miss that has some issues:

-ves
1. The seats are nasty and difficult to get in/out off;
2. The white dials and (optional) carbon fibre are a bit tacky
3. The spoiler/boot lip and vents ruined the car's line
4. If you drive with the window down you get cooked by the hot air escaping fron the vents in the bonnet. (similar but lesser problem in all DB7s because of wing vent)
5. The launch colour was the same as the Mini Cooper - argh!
6. Supposed performance upgrade mainly comes about by shortening the gear ratios to get to 60mph quicker. Sacrifices are made further up range,
7. Trying to hide the Ford switch gear by painting most of it Silver was hardly inspired.

+ves:
1. Suspension redesign works extremely well
2. Noise is spendid
3. Brakes are better (but in my experience seem to wear much faster than original DB7)

I'm with Clarkson on this one, by a Vantage and do the suspension. (I did)
