Ahhh, now I get it, TVR wants the people who they didn't care about, i.e. existing TVR owners, to come to an 'unveiling', maybe there's an entry fee so they can offset costs.
Would love to attend, purely out of curiosity, but I'm away on my jollies.
Tim
Right, a few points here.

Entry fee????!!! Ridiculous suggestion!
In my knowledge, there has never been a 'Big Brother' situation or 'financial support' for the club in ANY era of TVR. I've just spoken to Jeremy and confirmed this. The TVRCC is & always has been an independent body. Furthermore, the only person Sprint content goes through is me; if there was any 'monitoring' going on the content would surely have to be read before to going to print?
I don't doubt that other car clubs have financial inputs from their marques, in fact I know of one where that is definitely the case, and I'm sure writing content is alot more challenging!!!
Nobody's siding with anybody - we're merely bringing a TVR-related story to the members, and giving them an opportunity to witness events first hand, no more, no less. I guess, Tim, we would be damned if we did & damned if we didn't.
As for head-scratching, I for one am doing that, at where your sources get their information from!!!
PS - Thanks for the comment about Sprint having improved recently. As it's not down to 'Big Brother monitoring content' I'll take that as a compliment!

As far as I was aware the 'Russian' withdrew any financial 'support' for the TVRCC, so why would they side with them now? I can imagine there's a lot of head scratching going on at TVRCC HQ. This as far as I know, is one of the main reasons why Sprint content has improved over the past 12 months, Big Brother hasn't been monitoring content.

Firstly Excellent mag this month, I have wrote a little on the club site.
as an alternative viewpoint though I have posted the following on the club site also. these are my personal feelings as a club member and as such I do not expect everyone to agree with me but this is what I have said.............................
This post is entirely my own opinion and I will fully accept anyone having a different opinion to mine but.
we are a car club which:
Have witnessed the builders of our cars in Blackpool being made redundant.
have been totally kept in the dark regards developments and dealings
Have had no support from the current owners of TVR
Have watched our members get totally shafted regards warranties and deposits
As a club I feel that to endorse the previewing of a new car built by the self same people who are responsible for such dastardly deeds after a time being kept out in the wilderness is not something as a member I approve of.
We have in the current mag, paid tribute to the legacy of a man who has enriched lives of owners.
I feel that the current owners of the company have added nothing to such an important legacy and to endorse them by showing interest isn't in the interest of the club.
I think my feelings would be entirely different towards a new car in the hands of a new owner away from eastern block influence.
I personally though would not even want to recognise a car built by an owner with blood on his hands in terms of the way hardship and suffering was caused to a loyal and totally dedicated workforce.
I fully accept that going bankrupt may have been unavoidable, however the manner in which the loyal staff were treated during this period in my opinion is unforgivable. As such you can be assured that I will never own a car manufactured during or beyond this short and miserable reign.
Neil.
Pretty academic really. By the time they've sanitised them with all the smog and safety crap that are sure to be essential to attract the city-boy types that can be the only realistic market after pissing off 95% of their loyal former customer base, the things will have bugger all to do with TVR as we know it.
Too many wrongs to right, and a bit of half-arsed badge engineering aint the way.

Wooah, Mandy that was a tad harsh.
I'm not anti TVRCC, far from it! I have done nothing but support TVRCC and sung the praises of Sprint. Hell, I spend every other weekend out sprinting with TVRCC emblazoned all over my car!
The points I vocalised were implied to me by various people, some in 'the know' but I have gladly remove my post as you have assured us that this is not correct.
Oh, and the entry fee comment was tongue in cheek.
Tim
Point is Tim you should post what YOU think and not what 'other people' have told you. The others 'in the know' obviously don't know as much as they purport to know or you misunderstood them.I'm not anti TVRCC, far from it! I'm not getting into a s
gging match here, I have emailed mandy through P'heads and TVRCC, detailing where my info came from. I'm not in the habit of quoting 'pub banter' rest assured that my source was reliable.I have deleted my post, I ask that you do too.
I don't need this kind of agro.

Actually, I don't think that's the case (at least from my view). It is a news item, it is of interest and therefore it must be reported. There may or may not be anything of value in the event, time will tell about that, at the moment I doubt many people will know.
Another very good edition in my letter box tonight, thank you

There are two good things about this thread:
1. There may be some interesting news on the 10th (I realise ther may be too)
2. The fact people have become excercised shows the passion that is evoked.
It's be good if we didn't fall out, repected there are different views and simply see what happens on the 10th.

Sorry but what a pile of crap some people talk.
Why do we Brits always search for the negative, look at front page news, always negative!
Surely this bit of news should be taken in the spirit of the moment.
We have spent months if not years talking and discussing on the crap situation of Russian ownership, disgraceful treatment of loyal staff, etc etc.
If this is now just a little bit of light on the horizon and if the Rusky lord and master has now realised that TVR always was a specialist designer and builder of some of the most exciting cars to come from a low volume British sports car producer then it can only be good.
Maybe, just maybe he has at last realised this, and will now allow things to happen in true TVR style but with a bigger emphasis on build quality and engine sourcing.
I for one am very interested, and already know of someone who is prepared on the 10th (if he gets there) to possibly put money on the table as deposit on a new TVR built by TVR engineers.
If this really is true and this is a new start for TVR then I don't give a s
t who the shareholder is, I want TVR cars built by British engineers but with a tried and tested power unit and drive train.
