You're not really looking at selling are you matey?! Shame if you are.
If there's one thing about the Sport 160, it's the good prices people are willing to pay. With your car there is virtually nothing that needs upgrading or doing, it's all been done.
In all seriousness, I'd be putting that up for at least £14K. You'll get the usual suspects spouting on about that being silly money, and hell, maybe it is. But I bet you there is someone out there that would willingly pay at least that......

Slightly off topic Piooly but how do you find the EBC disks and mitex? I have standard disks at the moment (previous owner) and Pagids, personally i find them crap so think of changing.
Cheers

PS: I see where you are coming from the S2 Exige is very nice, but the Sport 160 is the first car i have had that i really love and never want to sell.

Damien, I have the same setup on my car, EBC USR discs, 1144 pads, Castrol fluid, standard lines. Very nice setup, doesn't need warming up, the discs don't rust which keeps them looking nice. I don't track it so can't comment on that side of things. I'd say they're a very nice budget upgrade. The pads create a hell of a lot of dust, and don't last that long, but they're not too much to replace. It's a cracking combination for fast road use.

I'd give you £10K for it tomorrow...S1 sport 160 in Black.

right in response to the questions......
I imagine somewhere around the £14K would be about right for the spec and mods done. It will only be of interest to anyone that actually wants this type of car with these types of mods.
EBC discs and mintex pads - great on road, no worries from me but yes lots of dust but I have black wheels so doesnt bother me. They do wear quite fast but are quite cheap...
£10K for it tomorrow, thanks but no thanks. I am in no rush so could wait for the right buyer. If its going to go, best to do it this time of year. With reguards to the exige idea, after a lot of thought, I think the Exige S is the way to go, just not enough performance difference with the NA exige over the 160. Why is there none for sale with the Performance pack? most have the touring spec. Where are all the hardcore owners, and Kypton green would be my pick of all.... there will be loads of them out there lol....

Don't you dare sell.... 160 is thrilling in ways no S2 variant (perhaps bar a 2-Eleven) could ever hope to.
Pretty much all of the true driving enthusiast Lotusphiles I know have done the S1-S2 "upgrade" and have then "upgraded" again to an S1.
I'd stick with what you've got unless you've very good reason to change.

For what its worth, I bought my Sport 160 back in April for £13000. Lower mileage than yours (23000 at the time) and some nice bits - braided hoses, 340R manifold, Exige exhaust, CRP etc. But in need of a 'C' service and less comprehensive spec than yours. I'd put yours up for no less than £14,000.
If I were you though, i'd be very reluctant to let it go in favour of an Exige S.
I have to say i'd agree, having had a chat with Oly about his 160 it sounds a super example but I think some of the guys on here are either very good mates or are looking at it thru rose tinted specs. For another £2k you are in NA honda territory and frankly, thats no contest with any other S1 in my book...
Mines up for sale too and I've probably overpriced it but there's a big difference between a car that's priced to sell and one that's being hopefully dangled out there for that 'magic buyer' who's got his blinkers on

At £16k for an NA Honda'd car all I'll say is, do you homework and caveat emptor.Mines up for sale too and I've probably overpriced it but there's a big difference between a car that's priced to sell and one that's being hopefully dangled out there for that 'magic buyer' who's got his blinkers on

Guys, I'm not saying you're wrong. On paper yes, of course £14K seems too much. I can almost guarentee however that someone will pay nearly that. The 160's normally get snapped up very quickly indeed. Like I said earlier, there's a hardcore of people who love these cars...
...me being one of them as you well know mate. When I was in the market I was offered a couple of cars, but I would never pay that for one, because they're simply not worth it. You could get any S1, have the engine sorted out by DVA and get it into better shape than an S160, verniers or otherwise. Sure they 'look' nice, but the Victories are heavy wheels (if I hadn't vowed to myself not to spunk cash on this one this year, mine would have been long sold in favour of some TMR's), the LSS is pretty poor, and that's about it. They are worth a premium over standard cars, for sure, but not as much as current owners seem to think. Those who pay top dollar, don't really seem to have done their homework or are simply price insensitive.S Works said:

Hmmmmmmmmmm.........lovely as the Exige is, I'd personally keep the 160, but I know where you're coming from. Out of interest, what were you thinking the value of the 160 was?
