Hamann SLR Volcano

Its an acquired taste....

As a follow-up to yesterday’s exercise in dubious taste – the ‘last of the line’ Merc/McLaren SLR with gold-plated calipers – we’re proud to bring you something almost completely different.

As somebody once said, ‘it’s not easy being cheesey’, but Hamann regularly seem to manage the trick. This time the exotic tuning firm has revealed a video featuring the cheesily-challenged SLR Volcano, a wildly be-winged chariot featuring various track-inspired body mods and an ill-judged two-tone paintjob. Judging by the pleasing engine note that’s audible behind the video soundtrack, the Volcano will also feature some performance modifications. We await Hamann’s detailed specification with interest!

Doesn't sound like an SLR to me, even a modified one. Just an added engine sound to the music I think.

Trying to be positive - if that were all in black, it would probably look MUCH better...

They should get rid of the Volcano script down the side and replace it with "To serve & Protect"

I don't think it looks "that" bad. I'm not such a fan of the paint job, but neither am I such a fan of the original car either and Hamann have most likely improved the performance too. Still....if I had that sort of cash burning a hole in my pocket I wouldn't be running to spend it on that car.

Wind up the boost, bolt some s**t on and hire a couple of marketing graduates.

Congratulations, you're a tuner smile

Hmmm. A world class engineering team with the best minds in the business design the SLR to within microns.
A mechanic then goes along and changes it?

Yup ... give me a standard one any day.
