Steering Boss

I have found a momo wheel i want.
Is it possible to turn the boss to 2 o'clock position as the holes line up but the wheel would'nt be straight.
Or is it a case of a new boss.

im sure you can turn the boss, the only issue i can think of, is the indicator canceling maybe out of line a little though.

but the six holes are the same just of center mate

Put the wheel dead centre, then remove, offer the momo up to the origanal boss and re-drill and tap the holes, job done. The new holes fall dead centre of the origanal gaps.

Ive got a old boss in the garage from another wheel i bought i assume won't fit but have now sold.
It has 2 pins underneath are they for the indicators?
I like the drill and tap idea from mak.
I still can't get the boss off i'll have to borrow a puller

Sounds like they are yes, they should be opposite each other if they are

Momo and personal have different size and position of holes..
Do an ebay search for Italian to Momo adaptor mount (10mm thick alu ring with countersunk holes to match the Personal boss and threaded holes to match the Momo wheel)... about £6 - £12 on fleabay.
Momo wheels are shallower than Personal so with this adaptor you'll find the indicator storks in the right position to.

can you not get a steering wheel to bolt straight on , i thought it`s a vauxhall, tell me why you would want an italian steering wheel ,you would heve to drive every where in reverse lol

You can buy a Momo boss specifically for the TVR column. I've given the details to BB for TGP in the past - have you checked there?

As for getting the old one off - good luck because its a pig. And its a load of rubbish that you can sit in the drivers seat and keep yanking till it comes off (ooh err Mrs)

I had a major fight with mine when I changed over, ended up using a 3 legged puller on the wheel itself but don't be tempted to do that because I've got a nice little dent in the edge of the original steering wheel now

I'm sure I'll be teaching you to suck eggs but don't forget to leave the big nut on the end of the splines or you'll be needing new teeth when the wheel does eventually let go.

Horn 55mm old wheel 60mm will it trim down?
Hole centres are a touch out will the adaptor ring sort it?

I've searched through the Mods section there and can't find the steering wheel change I thought I'd written up. Perhaps I put it up here - who knows these days with the archiving they are now doing.

I searched the net for a guy who sold Momo kit, phoned him and told him what my car was and that I thought it was a Vauxhall steering column (pre cat Griff with no PAS for me) and he came up with the correct bos for the wheel I'd already got.

On the horn question - I shaved a bit off the plastic wings which hold the TVR horn button into the steering wheel. I think It was a couple of mm off each wing (poss 4 of them?) so its possible the 5mm difference you mention is do-able.
I had to 'mod' the horn wiring when I changed though. I can't remember why now, something to do with the way it earths to the steering wheel which it wouldn't do with the new wheel I think.

I worked it out in the end and also traweled through the chest wigs pages and found nothimg.
So sod it im going for it and getting this wheel.
Soon find out if i boobed.

Adaptor ring will sort it out, Momo/Personal are not only slightly different hole pcd, they are also different thread size M5/M6.
As barreti says, you can shave the wings down on you existing horn to fit the smally Momo centre hole.
