I've seen 3 different versions of this Elise/Exige bright green colour. I've found a description of Krypton here - http://www.lotustalk.com/forums/f92/paint-codes-62... as a dayglow green with gold metallic layer, does that mean its a gold pearlescent on top of the green? In the photos its hard to tell and the colours look the same. Are they all metallic or pearlescent or gloss or what? I'm confused (doesn't take much but still).

My Exige S2 is Krypton Green and I would desdribe it as High vis green with a gold pearlescent laquer over the top.
The pearlescence is very subtle (unlike the colour) and is most noticeable in bright sunlight.

Thanks F.C., You don't see that gold pearl in the photos. I understand that Isotope is a little paler and slightly less 'in yer face' than Krypton, no idea about Scandal.

They are three *slightly* different shades of lime green

Scandal came first at about the S1 111S time. Krypton next and isotope was a new colour on 07 models.

My preference is for Krypton - scandal is a little matt (from memory) and isotope is just a little too light.. IMHO obviously. Looked quite closely into respraying my M100 in Krypton until someone else did it in a very similar pistachio shade first.

I have isotope green and beside a krypton car its completly different. I saw them both together at the lotus facotry. So the best way i can describe it is as follows noting that this is the cars side by side under both clouds and sun:

Isotope Green - is waaaay brighter. So bright green that it looks yellowy. Its the color of high vis jackets and also the new type ambulances you sometimes see. Looking at the paint close up there's specs of silve rin it and it's liable that it can change to yellow under certain lights but you'd always know it was a yellowy green if you get me. Then under garage lights etc it does look very green.

Krypton green - is alot more typical green. Under cloud it looks alot more matt green then Isotope which still has the in your face brightness under cloud.

I think the best way of describing it would nearly be to say Isotope is a metallicy paint compared to Krypton which would be more one tone green. Whereas Isotope changes. Also photos really cant show isotope at all. You really need to see them in person. Before the factory i was 99% sure i was going with Verde Ithaca and i hated Isotope from descriptions and pictures but then i saw the Isotope and everything changed.

I'll put up some photos of Isotope and Krypton but like i said its really something you need to see in person. They make look similar in photos but a mile apart in person.

Theres a Lotus track day at Oulton Park on Saturday, so hopefully there will be a few green cars there, and I can go have a look-see at them smile .

I have a Scandal green S160 and I have yet to see a camera cannot capture the colour correctly. I would imagine it is the same for Krypton and Isotope? Best to view them in person. Scandal has a Gold effect in sunlight too but looks like a matt-fluro-green in dull (dusk) light.
