Can you raise the front headrests on an 2007 XC90?

Im pretty sure all the Volvo headrests of late are fixed.

have to ask, why to do you want to raise them? - My 850 head rests reach almost to the roof anyway

I wanted to fix a bracket to suspend one DVD screen between the two headrests but the bracket is designed to fix to a regular headrest support pillar. I have called the dealer as well who confirm that the headrest cannot be removed.

Volvo front headrests have been fixed for a long time - they form an integral part of the WHIPS system.

You can remove the headreast, but it cannot be moved up and down. There are two hidden clips in the back of the seat, that need to be pushed quite hard and then the headrest will lift up. Feel for two little bars about 1/3 of the way down the seat in line with the headrest IIRC. It is constructed of two solid steel bars (most manufacturers use hollow tubing (ideal for running wires through from rear screens, not so good in an accident!)
Perhaps you will be able to fit your dvd unit by removing the headrest, attaching the fixings and refitting it? I doubt that a dealer would do this though as it would be considered tampering with a safety device.

Can't help on the headrests unfortunately but interested to know what DVD player as I'm just going through the same process to keep my little monkeys amused..!

As for what DVD player to buy. I bought a NextBase SDV685-A 8.5" Display tablet from Costco. They were £20 off last month at about £92 inc VAT. I actually only bought it because it looked really stylish and I knew I would be buying at least one screen in the near future. It seems to get good reviews online also.
