TVR Power Back on its Feet

Six months after being destroyed by fire Coventry TVR centre is fully operational again

A TVR centre that was ravaged by a fire six months ago has announced it is now fully operational again. TVR Power in Coventry was left burnt out by the blaze and a number of cars were completely destroyed.

But after half a year of hard work owner Dom Trickett has declared the centre fully open again and says it is now better than ever. ‘Within two days we were operating but only in 50% of the workshop. We lost some money because we couldn’t have the same turnaround – but now nothing can hold us back.’

The fire in August '08 left half the workshop wrecked and at least seven TVRs were destroyed. About 45 firefighters tackled the blaze which started around 1am.

As a symbol of the company's new confidence it is now looking to expand to Ferrari and Lamborghini servicing, and is waiting for official approval from the marques. The centre now has a number of new facilities including new ramps and a balancing service.

After the fire...

The TVR specialist has also announced that its 4.3 Speed Six engine has covered 30,000 miles and is so sure of its reliability from March 2009 a five years unlimited mileage warranty will be offered. All standard Speed Six rebuilds get a three years unlimited mileage warranty, as do V8 rebuilds.

yep, good news.

Although, if they are looking after Lambo's and Fezza's, does that mean they need to change their name to TFL Power nuts

Will that finally put to rest speed 6 unreliability worries? And how much does a 4.3 rebuild cost...

Certainly does. Although i clearly have too much time, as ive been sitting here trying to work out how they got that Sagaris in there in the first place, as I can't seen any exit from that workshop other than over the top of the extractors! smile

Nice one, really glad that it has reopened. I wish them the best of luck with the Ferrari/Lamborghini contracts too.

Theres a little ramp just before the picture and hit at 27mph it clears it and allows time to stop before hitting the wall.

and here, my guess is that the brackets arent fixed to the floor and the whole rig can be removed leaving just a hole in the floor, saying that i prefer the ramp theory!

Don't know, but run one as a daily driver for say, 20,000 miles a year and if it fails after five years it'll have truly earned its keep. smile

Not quite,

http://www.tvrpower.co.uk/sp6.4.3.php

just short of £9400, its a lot of dough but might be worth it for the warranty and extra power?

I'd certainly consider it if I found myself needing a rebuild.
